The Key Lime Air Flight had just arrived from Washington state, and was transporting the Gonzaga University’s men’s basketball team to LA, ahead of a match with UCLA the following day.

“Air traffic controllers directed Key Lime Air Flight 563 to hold short of crossing a runway at Los Angeles International Airport because a second aircraft was taking off from the runway at the time,” the FAA said in a statement, shared with The Independent.

“When the Embraer E135 jet proceeded to cross the hold bars, air traffic controllers told the pilots to stop. The jet never crossed the runway edge line… The FAA will investigate.”

Why do you think tuition keeps going up

It's probably cost effective to lease a plane for that many people. Plus you're not at the whim of airline delays or cancelations.

I doubt they own a plane. They may be part of a co-op/time-share kind of arrangement. Or they may just hire a private plane as needed.

Edit: though I completely agree with your criticism of tuition, explosive costs, etc. There are more people in university administration than students today, not including faculty, just administration.

private planes are often chartered to others like taxis, earning the owners extra while also being available to them as needed.
