Enough Musk Spam

For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.

No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.

Opinions from all sides of the political spectrum are welcome here. However, we kindly ask that off-topic political discussion be kept to a minimum, so as to focus on the goal of this sub. This community is minimally moderated, so discussion and the power of upvotes/downvotes are allowed, provided lemmy.world rules are not broken.

Post links to instances of obvious Elon Musk fanboy brigading in default subreddits, lemmy/kbin communities/instances, astroturfing from Tesla/SpaceX/etc., or any articles critical of Musk, his ideas, unrealistic promises and timelines, or the working conditions at his companies.

Tesla-specific discussion can be posted here as well as our sister community /c/RealTesla.

I get where they were coming from. It was almost too silly to believe.

But yeah, I hope they do own up quick.

The silliness isn't what convinced me they were different people, it was the fact that Dittman could string a sentence together whereas every time I've heard Elon without a script (which really isn't often, probably never outside of KF) there have been so many ums and ahs that communicating a single point would take a lifetime. Maybe having less pressure on him as Dittman helps.

That right there is something I've always found grating about hearing him speak. When you hear someone intelligent speak, sometimes they use those placeholder umms and ahhs but he's only using them to keep the attention on himself--to not cede the floor to another speaker.

Despite how much/little value there is in his input, i think he's also using the extra time bought by those umms as a chance to try to remember/choose fancy words to dress up the thought he may be attempting to convey. Chances are he's not saying anything of value, but he's trying to speak as though his every word is profound. It's gotta be an ego thing, but probably also numerous other things too. He's so multidimensional 🥴
