For the record I was posting in support of inclusive language, but pointing out that context and convention matter.

They seem to have even scrubbed my comment from their instance, lol.

Is it really that hard to not call someone dude if they asked you not to call them dude? Just accept they don't like it and continuing at that point is rude at best.

I know this must be difficult to understand, but more than one person can hold an opinion like "just don't call someone something they've asked you not to call them"

I have no clue who the other person is, and the only "alt" I have is the same name on a different instance.

Just... Unless your goal is to intentionally disrespect someone, if they tell you they don't like being called something, don't call them that, it really isn't hard. And if your goal is to be disrespectful... Maybe consider hanging around people you can respect instead.

The hilarious part is, I never even said I would keep calling someone dude if they asked me to stop, that's just something you extrapolated and have been running with 😂
