You're right, I didn't read this time. I usually do, but this time I am guilty.
Also, just risking other drivers instead of your own is supremely shitty of them.
And if they ignored the problem you’d be criticizing Amazon for failing to care for their employees (contractors).
A private company isn’t well positioned to actually solve the root issue here. All they can do is remove their employees (contractors) from danger.
Amazon’s shitty for other reasons. But I don’t think this is one of them.
You're right. Because failing to take care of their employees and putting other people's employees at risk in order to stop their employees from getting attacked are both reprehensible.
Do USPS employees deserve to be attacked but Amazon employees don't?
If Dominos drivers kept getting attacked so Dominos just contracted out to Doordash to let them get attacked instead, I would hope you would think that neither situation was acceptable.
So is the solution then to be "Amazon withdraws all shipping services for "? "Amazon sends armed PMCs to , terrorizing locals"? What's the solution?
Why do I have to have a solution to find either solution, which puts someone in danger, unacceptable?
Why is putting USPS employees in danger acceptable to you?
It's not, I'm just trying to figure out what the path out of what appears to be a no-win scenario according to that standard. Just stop all deliveries altogether?
Maybe? Have people pick stuff up at a depot?
Postal service has to go there anyway, no extra risk.
So it's fine if a postal carrier gets attacked? Really?
How is that your take away? It's either an undeliverable address because the customer or a dog has threatened a postal worker, or they are going there at least 5 times a week anyway.
Are you saying some people or communities just don't deserve mail?
I’m saying just saying “let the post office deal with it” is the same as saying g “it’s ok if postal carriers get attacked or even murdered.”
Or do you have a solution to that which the USPS can do but Amazon can’t?
Amazon can, it's just too expensive for them to want to do it. This is the reason the postal service exists, if it became privatized half of us would stop getting mail delivery, at least at any kind of reasonable price.
Sounds like you just don't want people you deem undesirable to receive services.
No, I don’t want people to be murdered. Apparently you’re okay with it as long as it’s a post office employee and not an Amazon employee.
So you honestly think entire American zip codes are just murder zones? Where do you think the USPS employees working these zip codes live?
You insult your fellow humans with this nonsense. USPS wants nothing to do with your hateful rhetoric.
Why is Amazon not delivering to that area? Because I thought it was that their drivers were at risk. Why are postal workers expendable but Amazon workers aren’t? Is this some anti-union thing that you are taking way, way too far?
Because they are lying to improve their bottom line.
It's a combination of them wanting to pay low wages, and not getting people interested (because again, you have to compete with USPS wages/benefits) and that certain zip codes order more smaller value items, making the expedited shipping cost cut into their profits.
Right. You think it’s fine for a non-union, for-profit corporation to put unionized public employees at risk. This has already been established. I just don’t get why you think unionized public employees deserve to be attacked instead of Amazon employees. Is it the free life insurance policy or is the post office just too socialist for you?
Your the one simping for Amazon claiming certain American communities are essentially too violent. If I had my way they would be required to have equivalent or better versions of the USPS contract given how hard they dog their employees.
Where are all of these attacks happening? How come USPS can handle it fine, yet Amazon can't? Stop licking Bozos boot.
I am doing no such thing. Bezos is not the person doing the deliveries, low-paid, non-union Amazon workers are. I care about them, not Bezos. And I can see now that you didn't bother reading the article.
The attacks are happening in the zip codes where Amazon is not delivering. That's why they're not delivering.
I was going to ask why you haven't explained to my why USPS drivers should risk themselves but Amazon driver shouldn't, but now it's clear to me that you just think all of them should. I wonder if you've ever even worked in such a job or if you've just decided you know what's best for them? Because I'm betting its the latter.
Edit: also, I have no idea why you think caring about some low-paid employee's safety means I love the company they work for. Do you mock fast food employees when they get robbed at gunpoint because the company deserves it and anyone who worries about those employees is just a corporate bootlicker? Do you care about humans other than yourself at all?
What attacks? Give me the statistics about the attacks, oh wait you can't because Amazon made it up and your just parroting them.
Dude, read the fucking article.
