Or yaknow it doesn't matter that he is shitfaced, he is having a medical emergency. In that case nobody would think "oh no he drank alcohol he should've walked to the hospital".
In Europe nobody in their right mind would drive themselves to the hospital if they have an emergency. Sometimes it makes sense if someone else drives the injured person there, but most of the time we would just call an ambulance. Here in Germany you have to pay 10€ at most for one trip.
Ambulances aren't the answer 100% of the time and there are cases where your chances are better if you drive straight to the hospital. Obviously get someone to drive you if possible. But if not, driving yourself is better than dying waiting for the ambulance to get to you and get you back to the hospital in double the time.
So risking the people on the road's life and yours is better than only risking your own?
