frankly I'm surprised Airbus isn't making more off of Boeing's clusterfuck...

That's because they are pretty much running at full capacity for the next few years or so.

Switching planes also means recertification of pilots, which is a long and expensive process.

and that's cheap compared to the maintenance changeovers for sure, but how many times does boeing need to fuck up righteously until they burn all their bridges lol

When you are committing billions to an inventory you don't jump ship to the alternative provider. You start your RFP process again.
