I'm vegan and I'll be eating it when it's available provided the only animal product to get started is a cell sample.

But if it requires continuous animal inputs to sustain then it's simply not vegan. You could argue that even acquiring a cell sample to get started also isn't but needing continuous animal inputs certainly isn't.
