Military members have a higher quality of life than most people. Socialized medicine, free education, community.

It's one of the only ways they can coerce our children into becoming fascists.

Calling the VA socialized medicine is correct.

It is also incorrect. Because it is a broken program.

[–] TrismegistusMx 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It's better than civilian healthcare in every possible way.

[–] kennydidwhat 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The VA is a broken program. Where's the lie? When did I mention civilian healthcare?

You wouldn't have to strawman me if you had a meaningful point.

[–] TrismegistusMx 1 points 1 year ago

It's not totally broken. It does a lot of good for a lot of people. This thread is about socialized medicine and civilian healthcare by comparison. Go hate elsewhere.

It’s one of the only ways they can coerce our children into becoming fascists.

What makes them fascist to you out of curiosity?

[–] TrismegistusMx 5 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

The deification of the authority of the government. Every soldier is fascist by design, or how could they justify orders to kill any other human?

you’re thinking of authoritarian/authoritarianism— and while fascism is inherently authoritarian, the two are discrete concepts.

[–] TrismegistusMx 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

They're the same thing exactly. You can't differentiate them in any meaningful way.

they really are, though. authoritarianism is a sociopolitical organizational concept. fascism is a political ideology. I suggest that you do some reading on the subject.

Fascism is a far-right, authoritarian, ultranationalist political ideology and movement,[1][2][3] characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition, belief in a natural social hierarchy, subordination of individual interests for the perceived good of the nation and race, and strong regimentation of society and the economy.

Authoritarianism is a political system characterized by the rejection of political plurality, the use of strong central power to preserve the political status quo, and reductions in the rule of law, separation of powers, and democratic voting.[1][2] Political scientists have created many typologies describing variations of authoritarian forms of government.[2] Authoritarian regimes may be either autocratic or oligarchic and may be based upon the rule of a party or the military.[3][4] States that have a blurred boundary between democracy and authoritarianism have some times been characterized as "hybrid democracies", "hybrid regimes" or "competitive authoritarian" states.

edit: Soviet Communism was also authoritarian, but it was far-left in its political ideology. no reasonable person would call it fascist, which is far-right.

just because all fascism is authoritarian doesn’t me all authoritarianism is fascism just like how all water is liquid but that doesn’t mean all liquid is water.

[–] TrismegistusMx 1 points 1 year ago

Soviet communism was fascism. You don't have to ask me. Go to one of the mass graves and ask a resident. There's nothing leftist about any centralized government. They're all right wing. On the left are voluntary cooperative organizations. They're destroyed the instant they're detected by billionaires.
