I’m tempted to start making oddly specific small statues made of random materials, maybe with limbs pointing to the previous statue in a sequence. Is there a better method?

So cool that we can now add custom patterns.

Pattern suggestions, or even contributions, are greatly appreciated!

Today's #Minecraft snapshot 24w11a brings tons of new 1.21 features!

🔨 The mace is a new weapon you can use to inflict great damage from falling! It's crafted using the new breeze rod and heavy core.

🏺 Three new pottery sherds, two new armor trims, and two new banner patterns can now be found in the trial chambers!

I have the old .jar and .json files, and I've tried using them both in multimc as well as the standard launcher, and neither detects them as valid installs. Most of the stuff I see online is either wildly outdated or full of dead links. Any help?

Yep, actually new video from Seth.

I wanted to reminisce a bit and play something that has Forestry (for the bees) and while I am not new to technic modpacks (Tekkit mainly) I don't have that much time to sink into automation now.

I choose E2 because I heard good things about Enigmatica in general so if I wanted Forestry it seemed like a good "latest and somewhat up-to-date" choice.

Though, after breezing thru early game, going straight for dia pickaxe and making CC Turtle then excavate a bit to get a some ores, I found out I have no idea how to make some early-ish game generation and to top it of it looks like there is tons of different mods doing same thing, power generation, grinding, furnaces, pipes - so many different pipes and obviously three or four different energy units where I don't know what works with what.

I guess I am asking if this is normal (or maybe E2 is too old?), also any tips for a "dusted-off" tekkit like experience? Or maybe something more streamlined.
I would love something with forestry as my mid/end game plan is just bees.

Thanks for any tips!

I was looking through the Minecraft wiki and found an old texture for sandstone added in JE 1.2

I thought it looked similar to the Breeze mob which is coming in 1.21

It's likely just a coincidence. But very cool. The texture never made it into the final game unfortunately.

The very first end grain board I made was a creeper face with red oak and poplar wood. It was a proof of concept. I decided to do it again but with years of experience. Higher resolution and tighter tolerances.

This tweet was kinda vague but it got me thinking, what if we got an alternate pacifist ending to Minecraft how should it be? In my opinion I think It would be something that needs ingenuity instead of a fighting challenge you go out of the end island by building a bridge or flying machine you find a structure with unbreakable blocks go through hard challenges that require thinking but in the end you won't find any treasure or regular end portal frames instead you need to craft blocks from a crafting table that was in there, and put them in unusual looking frames, the blocks would be unnamed to signify that you're creating something new something you alone could make and name it you'd probably have the ability to make it into any color texture or shape you like then no matter what ingredient you could make only 12 if you go back and kill the dragon they disappear so you have to make to make a choice, it would be a nice and kinda poetic ending to Minecraft.

Some told me "pics or it didn't happen", so I posted videos from the world, that got some attention, and here I am, posting the entire 3GB world to the public for anyone to download and try:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1woXAhxZ4RoJAWJf7XbUbxfG1ahAgaLZV/view?usp=sharing

Some may recognize it from a map posted to /r/minecraft years ago, that was also me.

The first few weeks/months I set the difficulty to peaceful survival, but after hgaving lost my bed and dying only to respawn far away from the base, I recovered a shadow copy backup and cheated into creative mode, a few years later after being annoyed, I removed bats and clouds from the world so I could focus on building stuff.

I never used any mods to enable me building faster or easier, apart from the above mentioned cheats this is vanilla minecraft, every block built in the last decade has been placed manually, every hole dug has been dug either manually or with TNT, often rigged to be synced with redstone if blasting horizontal.

To see what I probably think is the most impressing stuff, find Plattform 7 at the huge trainstation and follow the tracks.

BTW, the brick church is ginormous, go downstairs, and have a notebook to draw a map handy, it is a bizzare librarynth down there, and even I can't remember the way through.

The main runway is mined.

Look outside the wall(s)

During several years it was the main game I played, and I played it for hours every day.

I have recovered the map from backups when it developed save errors, I have recovered the map from a hard drive that was about to crash, and I have done some normal migrations between computers.

Most of the time spent in the map was spent in creative mode, all of the time spent has been spent playing without mods.

The map has it all:

  1. Weird towers, many weird towers.
  2. Railroads, many railroads, soo many railroads, I am not kidding, there is a huge ammount of railroads, it is frankly ridiculous how many railroads I have built.
  3. Weird religious buildings, from classic chruches, to many, many strange halls dedicated to religious or cult iconography.
  4. A huge, confusing, underground maze of libraries.
  5. Huge geometrical structures that just keeps going.
  6. A lot of odd glass and light sculptures.
  7. Hugely long but super narrow buildings that just goes on and on and on.

So my question is, if anyone would like to get a copy of this world and see what my mind has built over almost a decade.

There's a big space for a whole city there, but only one build...

And boy do I regret not getting it earlier.

I defeated the Ender dragon ages ago, and I had everything I needed to go and explore the outer End, but I decided to do a bunch of other stuff first, since I thought that the elytra wouldn't be that big of an improvement. I was wrong, I've had this thing for like 10 minutes and I already rely on it, it's so useful being able to fly and travel about 3x as fast as on foot.

My new #1 priority is now to build a bigger sugarcane farm to make rockets. I already have one, which I thought would be enough, but I'm burning through rockets way faster than I'd expected.

Does anyone know of a mod that, given the seed for example, could locally generate chunks so that they can be displayed before the server generates them?

IE if multiple people are exploring and the server's struggling to keep up, it would be awesome if the client could generate them locally and fill in the gaps locally until the server gets around to generating them proper

(Kinda like how I imagine distant horizons does it)

Sideloading mods is still available for the Bedrock Edition, but this will bring add-ons to everyone.

A little Rust wrapper program I wrote to add proper signal handling for the Minecraft server executables. I've also packaged it for Fedora (via Copr) for easy updates along with some systemd services.

I've been using it to run my servers for a bit and it's working great. Hopefully it can help someone else out with running a Minecraft server.

Tested on AlmaLinux 9 and Fedora 39

BDStudio is an online tool that lets you use the new block, item, text display entities to create a complex custom model that works in Vanilla MC!

It has a very nice dark interface that Blockbench users might enjoy, and an (unorganized, but) sizeable community.

https://eszesbalint.github.io/bdstudio/editor

There's also a sharing site for BDStudio models in the works by another person. I haven't seen anyone talk about it but it looks interesting. ^ ^
