Any news on why this is happening with this instance ? it might be harder to check if upvotes and downvotes federate to the outside lemmyverse .

other instances seem to federate better.

Don't the instance owners use it ?

Recently, since the current Lemmy versions for this instance (0.19.0 for UI, 0.19.1-rc.1 for backend) may not be up-to-date with the final release of version 0.19.1, would an upgrade to the final version of 0.19.1 help with any issues the instance is suffering from lately?

I'm not sure if this will resolve the federation issues the instance is currently having, but hopefully this helps.

I'm not a member of this instance lemm.ee, but I have a meta question so I came here because "meta."

I know I'm lost and if you know of a better place I can post this, please redirect me. In the meantime here's the problem:

If you click on my profile, Then click "about," It indicates I've made 43 posts. But when you click on my "posts," It shows nothing and says "user has no posts."

What's going on?

I can only speculate:

  1. is it a glitch that will clear up soon? But I've checked other people's profile and everyone else has their posts showing.

or

  1. Are the moderators and owners of my instance messing with me? some might consider me an annoying user because I'm the kind of person who deletes any of my comments that have less than one upvote, So I'm constantly doing that and maybe that annoys the instance owner and the moderators or whoever runs this joint.

????

Where are my posts?

Right now the only way I can access my posts is to go into my inbox and click on anybody who's responded to my posts, or go into my own comments and click on any comments I've made in my own posts.

54

Take https://lemm.ee/c/moviesandtv for example. From lemmy.ml, lemmy.world, and sh.itjust.works, you can't see any posts or comments from lemm.ee users, and lemm.ee users can't see any posts from other instances.

I don't know what's broken, but something is badly broken.

55

Two examples:

  1. This post is not visible in https://lemmy.world/c/comicstrips
  2. This comment is not visible on lemmy.world post
56

Title.

57

(title) - your comments (and perhaps posts) are now soft deleted with no way to purge them, leaving a trail of "deleted by creator" elements but tied to your username and now litter up your personal space and leave a trail of your tears across lemmy.

Example: https://lemm.ee/post/18264335 (scroll and load comments and search "deleted by creator")

58

With the login issues, the long load times and sometimes nothing loading, the "show read posts" bug, and no acknowledgment of the issues, this is a worse experience than 0.18.

59

Loading my own profile in both apps and on lemm.ee has been painfully slow since the 0.19 update, is anyone having a similar issue?

60

Purging app data didn't help; lemmy.world works perfectly.

EDIT: I logged back in after updating Jerboa to the latest version. It's probably because of Lemmy v0.19 update on lemm.ee.

61

I was wondering why I wasn't able to login, it turned out that I had to clear my cookies for lemm.ee

Feels good to be back and the update seems to be working!

Hey folks!

Lemmy 0.19 was released this week! It brings a bunch of awesome new features, so I hope you are all willing to forgive some downtime in order to upgrade to this latest version.

Unfortunately some migration will be necessary as part of this upgrade, so it might take a while, but I will try to keep it as short as possible.

I hope you are all having a great holiday period, and I will see you soon in 0.19!

Edit: Update complete!

Welcome to 0.19! Unfortunately, the upgrade took somewhat longer than usual, but I believe everything is in order now. As always, please let me know if you notice anything strange, and have fun!

None of the admins have done or said anything in two months. Admins, please say something!

64

Is there a way to restore deleted account? I accidentally (not really) deleted my account @[email protected] . That was my main account as to mod two communities [email protected] and [email protected] . That account also has profile picture and banner set. All of this makes me kinda sad. Should I cc admin and moderator? It feels kinda rude. Thank you!

What is lemm.ee's stance on federating with Threads? Personally, I don't trust Meta at all and I certainly don't like the idea of the company profiting off me and my content. That's why I don't have a presence at Facebook at all right now.

See https://alexandrite.app/lemm.ee/post/18069340 for the announcement

Any news from the instance admin on when we can switch to v0.19?

Considering the latest rash of spam images plaguing the platform, I decided to figure out how to block embeds entirely since I never really liked them in the first place and am sharing what I got working since I figured it might be something others would like to enable themselves. (Fyi, this method requires uBlock Origin)

  • Open your uBlock settings and navigate to the 'My Filters' section
  • At the bottom of the document, add two breaks and then paste this:
lemm.ee##p > span
  • If your instance is different than lemm.ee, then replace that with the instance you use to have it work.

With that enabled, images and videos shouldn't load in comments anymore. I'm sure there's a better way to do this, so feel free to share if you know! This is just what I knew how to get work asap. Hope it helps some people!

*0.19 seems to have borked the method I previously posted, but I was able to find another string that works that seems to be more efficient anyhow. Hopefully this one works for a while! I'm going to leave the old strings at the bottom here just to cover all bases. To reiterate, these are the old strings that, afik, do NOT work anymore.

lemm.ee##.comment-content > .md-div > p > [src]
lemm.ee##.comment-content > .md-div > p > video

Hello!

I've noticed that in some posts, although I see they have comments, I cannot see them when I go and read the post.

Why is that ?

69

I can't seem to upload images when using my lemme.ee account. I have no problems on other instances.

Does anyone know about this?

70

I'm looking for a community where discussion about the Lemmy software itself is discussed. I have a feature request and although I can't see any such request on the Lemmy github, it seems nearly impossible to me that no one has asked for it yet. I want to chat about it with other Lemmy users before determining if I'm way out in left field or not.

71

really looking forward to blocking some instances

72

thought that was funny, how sensative can you be to ban people for having a different opinion🤣

73

I don't think you need me to elaborate. I will not be linking their profile

74

So apparently there are chat filters which censors blacklisted words as removed, and the filters on Lemmy instances are instance wide.

Is there no way to disable or customize the filter, as a user, to your own preference?

And if so is this a feature that will get implemented at some point and is there somewhere where I can see what the list of censored words are?

75

Too many users here prefer smaller communities and have openly stated they aren't interested in making accommodations to pursue growth to a truly large platform, even if it could be.

Lemmy is the sort of site that will linger in the background and quietly die out, it'll occassionally be mentioned in the same sorts of conversation that bring up old alternatives like voat, rare conversations with few readers.

I had some optimism at the growth spurt, but seeing what the opinions of users here were, that hope turned into cynicism. As I forgot about Lemmy, it's irrelevance was reinforced. It would be best, I think, if this foundation could replace its competitors. But I don't think it's going to happen.

I don't think you want common idiots to like the site.
