Liftoff!

When the screen blanks liftoff simply resets to the default view. As a result it forgets:

• The feed you were scrolling through
• ~~The position in the feed~~
• The post/comment you were writing

Makes it annoying to write even moderately long posts/comments because you constantly have to be on the lookout for the screensaver or disable it. And how you don't get distracted when authoring a post/comment.

I’ve been having an issue where the app will randomly scroll to a previous point and then back, as if it’s reloading all the pictures or something.

Is this a known issue?

I keep running into issues where I'm unsure of which account I'm currently using. It would be nice if it were more obvious at all times. Two things that would help me are:

• always display the current user somewhere, regardless of what content is being viewed.
• allow setting different color themes for different users.

Hello, trying liftoff for the first time and my “subscribed” feed and “blocks” tab are both empty, though they should be heavily populated.

Known bug?

After selecting an Image to upload I can't leave the editing screen, there is no button for accepting or else.

I'm sorry if this has been asked often before, but it seems like the best app so far and I'd really like to encourage more features and bug fixes.

It is not my intention to start a flame war. Please refrain. I just want to help out.

When I'm at work surrounded by customers, I want this on. When I'm on a break or at home I want it off.

It is a lot of clicks to go thru Settings to change it, especially since there is no way to get into Settings if you are currently browsing a community. In that case you need to leave the community entirely just to get back to somewhere with a Settings kog, toggle it, then re-search and re-open the community only to find you've lost your scrolling spot. So overall it's something like 20 taps just to unhide the hidden things.

**The request: **Make this toggle always visible to be toggled in 1 click (2 at most) from any screen containing content (put it by the home button, for example).

Bonus request: Add the ability to reset this toggle to ON after a certain time/event, so if I forget to turn it back on it will do so alone and I don't get fired when a spicy meme or random porn thing scrolls up thru my screen as a customer is looking over my shoulder.

Bonus bonus request: Include that bar at the bottom (that contains Home, Account, etc.) when browsing communities. Ideally it should always be accessible.

Just tried using it for the first time. I wrote some text, highlighted it, then hit the spoiler button. What I saw was this:

I just accidentally clicked 'Mark All Read' to my replies and now I can't respond to any of them :(

Would it be possible to have a settings option to prompt the user to confirm they want to mark all as read?

As per subject and image

If the description is longer, I couldn't click the subscribe button and the area is not scrollable or expandable.

All of a sudden, some comment replies are not showing up. They're there, I've seen them on other apps... Anyone else having this issue?

On my Android phone, switching away from Liftoff to another app usually causes it to unload. So, when I switch back, it loses the scrolling position I had left, which means I have to start again at the top. Other apps on my phone don't do this, and apps used before Liftoff don't get unloaded, so I don't think this is a memory usage issue.

Has anyone else noticed the same?

As per the title really, unless I'm missing something I can't search for a term within a specific group (sub-reddit).

An example is wanting to help only search within Liftoff to see if anyone has made a post about this.

I’d think the option to always open links in reader mode would be nice. As well as a search through comments.

Is it possible that videos for example not pause other media. I sometimes like to watch a YouTube video or listen to a podcast while browsing and verytime there is a video, playback stops and I have to press play again, after I watched the video. So is it possible to disable that feature?

It seems Lemmy is as much of an echo chamber as anywhere else. Even when I agree with the hive I like to read differing viewpoints, but there's no easy way to sort through them here. We can't be well-rounded when all we see are the same opinions endlessly reinforced in discussions.

For example grey out the post title to show that the post had been opened at some point already.

When I get notifications about answers, I always need to click show context. Without the context the answer alone is mostly useless. It would be great to always view the answers in the context.

Second thing is about the search. Everytime I need it, lemmy.world is preselected. I use my own instance, so this a little annoying. The user should select which instance should be used as default.

Is it an UI-bug, or people from defederated instances commenting? Something else?

I can't seem to figure out how to do this in liftoff.

The best search and find method that I have for communities is to create a new post and I can search through the communities on an instance there.

However I'm not sure how else to search for communities, it just go directly to one, as the search function isn't to helpful right now.
