You do not have to give the precise location, something like "Northern Idaho, June 2023" or even "North-Western US, June 2023" suffices.

My little Pigeon :) (lemmy.world)

It's the older one of the two that grew up on my balcony. I haven't seen the younger one in a long time, this one i had not seen for two weeks (for which one i was on holidays).

Fed him some sunflower hearts. He is absolutely not scared of me and also not of my camera. When i tried to pet him, he picked at me and also hit me with a wing some time ago, haha. I don't think he'd do that if he was actually scared.

He then was sitting in the corner of the balcony where he used to sit with his little sister when they couldn't fly.

Mom and pops were just checking out my balcony again to find a place to nest, but i saw them do it yesterday already and upgraded the anti nestabiltity a bit. They left now, i don't think they found anything good today.

The Eurasian nuthatch, we have m on our balcony everyday and at first they got harassed by the blue tits but they all seem to get along now. They move smooth and appear glued to any surface.

This picture is not OC.

Okay, I've decided that a break from Ibis photos is in order (Robin told me to post his portrait, and what Robin wants he gets)

Eurasian Robin who let me get real close this morning.

Just to go over the rules again...

  • Sit near the ground, not at the top of a mature Horse Chestnut Tree
  • Sit at the Front, not at the back of the tree
  • Choose a sunny day to come out to a shoot
  • Don't hide behind twigs
  • Don't hide your head
  • Don't fidget

But do you Goldfinches listen? No you don't!

Absolutely delighted to see the parents and brood of pretty much adults on a town park pond. I'd not seen any of them for a while, and feared for their safety.

What can I say? It creeps round trees, I rarely see it, and just look at those claws!

BBC Report on the award, with some stunning (and some very sad, including the very first) photos shown.

Google suggests a Duclair Duck (and so an escapee) but I'm unconvinced.

An alternative name for a kestrel, and definitely what this one was doing!

Reading, UK, Canon R6 + RF800mm, 1/2000s, F10, ISO1000, Exposure Bias +1 1/3

Must have knocked the dial as that should have been F9. For most of its hover, its head was in the shadow of its wing , making for less than perfect shots needing drastic post processing, e.g.
