Toph will be played by Miya Cech, a 17 year old actress of Chinese & Japanese descent. She does not have any sight impairments. She was adopted by Czech parents (hence the last name). For an amusing tidbit, she was in a movie called 'a great divide'. photo of Miya Cech Her imdb

Netflix has just announced that season 2 of the live action series is now in production.

The Cabbage Merchant from Avatar: The Last Airbender is a Fire Nation Spy (and a cabbage bender...) This will be the most convincing Avatar theory you will ever hear.

This one-shot graphic novel, focused on Mako, releases February 2025.

I think the description sounds interesting:

"When a strange missing persons case falls into his lap, Mako is forced to choose between his job and doing what he feels is right! An upturned room and an unhelpful witness aren’t promising starts to the investigation, but when his brother Bolin comes across a surprising clue that ties their own mother to the case, the pair embark on a journey to the small, rustic island of Penquan. The island’s inhabitants seem to have things to hide, and the brothers are determined to get to the bottom of it—even if it means uncovering uncomfortable parts of their family’s past. "

A new Avatar novel has been released, written by National Book Award finalist Randy Ribay.

The novel will be available in hardcover, digital, and audiobook formats.

It is the first novel featuring Avatar Roku and the fifth entry in the Chronicles of the Avatar series. From the synopsis:

Having been announced as the new Avatar, Roku struggles to grasp basic airbending principles—even after months of training under Sister Disha, his airbending master. When his best friend Fire Lord Sozin requests the new Avatar’s aid in preventing the Earth Kingdom from claiming a remote Fire Nation island, it doesn’t surprise Roku that Sister Disha advises him to decline. Roku steals away with the help of an irritating young Airbender named Gyatso. As the reluctant companions delve deeper into their wayward mission, they realize the fog-shrouded island harbors a secret that could lead to catastrophe in the wrong hands. Roku must learn where to place his trust and what it means to be a spirit of no nation . . . even if the lesson comes at a great personal cost.
