I agree with this from using Pop on a Surface Pro 8, much more casual usage though: mainly web browsing, watching shows, light gaming and scrolling through PDFs/CBR files. Just using a cheap/non pressure sensitive stylus too
I try to think this wherever I bemoan the lack of IPU4 support

Fwiw I started out with PopOS as I had a 1080ti and am still with it having moved to a 7900XTX. No issues with it apart from the Pop Shop being slow which should be remedied by the new Cosmic version
