It was definitely more than DOS and Windows, it was programs written on all kinds of platforms, from Unix to mainframes and more. That's also a key point, the operating systems were just part of the problem, it was the software found banking, industrial control, and all the things

Old Slashdotter here. I skipped Fark and Digg and went straight to Reddit. I'm very happy to be here in the Fediverse/Lemmy world now.

I'm leaving reddit for good, because of how the admins and owners are mistreating third party app developers, mods, and users. I've moved to the Fediverse, which is a much nicer place, made by users and for users. I advise any who read this to do the same.
