Using a bot for a period of time to generate activity and then disabling once engagement is sustained, vs sticking to humans but have zero engagement... I think it's pretty clear where the value is. Thanks for creating that bot :)

Edit: another thought, given that this is the fediverse, nothing really prevents the creation of a community (in this instance or another) that has the bot, and experiment to see which approach is most effective.

I subscribe to RSS feeds for subreddits that don't exist on Lemmy just so that I don't give them any clicks or ad revenue.

For answers to questions or problems that are only available on Reddit, I turn on my favorite privacy browser, I hold my breath, go to that specific post, get my answer, and gtfo asap.

Like the saying goes, never stick it in crazy. But if you have to, be protected.

Like @skye pointed out, I suspect it might indeed be based on region. I remember another thread where a user reported seeing Sync rated at 3 stars, whereas others reported 5 stars.
