Well, as others said people lived in hot climats from ancient times, but remember that even after that the summer was the season of getting food - crops were grown only in spring/summer with the peak in mid summer and then fall of until freezing of winter comes around.

I really like summer for that too, it's berries, fruits and stuff, nature blooms in full force.

That being said, I think that all seasons are good and have there own perks. My main gripe is that I think the season should match itself - if it's summer it should be sunny and warm, if it's winter it should be snowy and cold etc etc

I'm not just like to not fill creeper holes, I actively preserve them and build around them. For me they're the lore of my base.

What functionality do they ensure? I understand web games and webapps, but like any website now has cookies

I have a question, it's maybe stupid but still:

Aren't cookies, like, files on your device?? Can't you just forbid websites to write anything to disk??

Hi everyone!

As a mod, I started getting some reports on people commenting doomer stuff under posts. They're not really great, they're demotivating and most importantly not really fit this communities vibe. I'm not fond of them, but I can't go removing comments and banning people left and right, because technically, they not breaking any rules. So I feel that the community discussion is in order.

If we going to implement a rule against doomers, I think it is very important to define the rule clearly, for it not to be too broad. So I propose the phrasing "blatant doomerism". Here are examples:

  • Blatant doomerism\doomer trolling (comment gets removed, user banned if spams to many comments like this):

  • adequate discussion with some doomerism (nothing gets to be done by mods, discussion in the comments goes as usual)

So, the discussion is welcome. If I missed anything, or even if it's not needed and there should be no change to the rule set, or you have anything to add, feel free to comment.

Rule

I liked to go to the FediDB to look at the Fediverse statistics (mostly how well is lemmy doing). But I got there today after a somewhat long brake and found out that they stopped updating their graphs for individual software since November 2024. But the "all fediverse" graph is up to date so I kinda confused at this point. Does anyone know what happend? Why they stopped? And do they plan on keeping up to date again sometime in the future?
