i heard through the grapevine that yoshida acknowledged this and there's gonna be a patch to get rid of the godawful motion blur. hopefully on launch
it's fantastic. i'd highly recommend second opinion if you've access to a wii or you can figure out a good way to emulate the controls with kbm (which is what i did)
alternatively, you can't go wrong with the ds version. it's a damn good game either way
I haven’t bought SH2 yet, does it feel like a Megaten game? I heard mixed opinions…
feels like a megaten game with a severe lack of polish. lots of repeated dungeon. on launch the combat was slow as FUCK but they've patched in run buttons and animation skips. my biggest gripe beyond that though was the fact that the characters were absolutely fucking terrible. maybe one member of the only cast had any semblance of a personality
played persona 2-5, smt 1, 3, sj, 4/a and a chunk of 5, dds1/2 and soul hackers.
pretty much have made my rounds. i'll do smt2 when the ps1 version gets its inevitable translation and i'd like to get to the raidou series eventually. maybe i'll play majin tensei, maybe persona 1, maybe the obscure gameboy shit, maybe kmt, maybe devil survivor, maybe tokyo mirage sessions - but that aside i've got it all covered
oh and maybe i'll finish my playthrough of smtv before the new year after next. i like what i've played a lot but i'm a bitch about dropping a game and picking it up some five years later. i also may or may not finish soul hackers 2, but the big distinguishing factor there is that i think that game pretty much sucks
the games i'm most interested in aren't translated. notably giten megami tensei and nine (which prolly sucks ass but still)
trauma center is great and something i need to play more than one game of
maken x is a pretty interesting first person slasher kinda thing
catherine is of course very popular for good reason
i've had stella deus on my list for a while. kinda expect it to be mediocre but it's got my boy soejima so i'll get to it eventually
also really wanna play despiria, which i hope gets translated sooner than later because it looks really fucking cool
very different games. dds is more in line with persona, but it's more fair to compare it to ffx because it has very similar leveling mechanics. there's also no demon fusion.
raidou is an arpg and a pretty poorly playing one at that, but people love it for the story, characters and general atmosphere. raidou 2 is generally considered worse when it comes to those things, but the consensus is that it's really damn fun.
well shit. alright then
i've never disliked the calendar system and i think social elements play a nice role in stat building, but i hope that the cast is fleshed out properly outside of them. p3 did it best by not having party social links for everyone - instead the characters grew with the story in a fully intentional way, whereas in p4 and 5 everyone just sucks mc off instantly
you don't need to focus on anything. guns and charm/nerve rounds will make short work of quite literally everything. you'll also get so many damn incense items that it won't even matter how you distribute your stats. just don't bother putting anything into magic for the mc because he can't use it
