Nope, Lemmy is similar to Mastodon where the average person finds instances too confusing

Stuff like this is a vote winner according to the feedback they get in focus groups.

Psychedelics are exclusionary by their very nature because only those with immense privilege will have the best trips /s

The author is getting absolutely roasted on twitter for this article (and is retweeting all the criticism). You can check it out on nitter here. (As an aside I'm ecstatic that nitter is working again!)

For what it's worth I think the article is clumsy however I think that the journo had been given the scoop on the condition that Britta got some control over the angle the story took, and I think it's fair that he didn't betray her. He's also satisfactorily acquainted with McCarthy's novels and does a good job of identifying where this woman has influenced his writing.

I think this whole controversy has uncomfortable undertones of the situation with David Foster Wallace posthumous articles that swept his abuse aside as the price of genius. We need to become better at separating art from artist in both senses: the work shouldn't be tainted by the author (I'm pretty sympathetic to the "death of the author" approach for analysing works of art); but at the same time we need to avoid minimising criminal or immoral acts by our favourite artists. They are flawed humans and we need to examine them as such instead of mythologising them as a "genius".

Stadio Olympico is a great stadium. Very walkable from the centre of Rome too.

I believe it's configurable whether you get notifications about new releases on Galaxy, just like how it is with steam. Although one thing I've noticed is that claiming free games on GOG will toggle the notifications on again so you need to turn it off after claiming anything.

Liked it more than Mr Morales but it sounds like a collection of B-sides as opposed to a cohesive album.

Edit: MUSTAAAAAAARD

OP needs to be asking for help with specific coding problems on there too as opposed to asking for a mentor like here because they'll get the same response. Also reiterating what I said in my comment about IRC being more helpful provided you send them a pastebin.

Love my DS! Took a picture of some of my favourites for a mastodon thread earlier but will share here -

I'd just use the #rust IRC channel on libera.chat personally.

Edit: Maybe for the basics/boilerplate you could start with ChatGPT or another generative AI. Then if you have a specific question you could ask the enthusiasts on the IRC channel. IRC people are a lot more helpful than discord people in my experience.

Should also mention there is no substitute for a good textbook so maybe getting a PDF of an Intro to Rust type book would be a good idea as well.

Indeed! It just took me a minute to realise that

I remember showing up to my first class thinking it would basically be "stoner studies" and then being given a complicated lecture on formal logic. There was an American student at the front of the class who exclaimed at one point, "Wow! It's just like simple computer programming." I remember thinking I was in the wrong room lol.

Anyway I stuck with it and now I'm a computer programmer.
