The first nitrogen execution in the USA did not go well. And arguably the first nitrogen suicide pod they tried in Switzerland went even worse.

Back when I lived in North Edinburgh someone got shot at my local (Jock's Lodge). They keep changing the name to try to distract from that colourful incident but all the locals stick to the original name. Nice place; friendly bar staff!

Yes, I was being a bit cheeky asking to be honest. I also felt like the movie set up Hugh Grant as a straw man (although as an actor I think he's good at playing a villain).

Hello I live in Scotland and the SPFL is rubbish. I have a lot of pals that support the reds. Do you guys mind if I become a glory hunter for this season?

Edit: You guys have Doak and Robbo from my national team so that's also piqued my interest

Same I think the monsters work better as museum pieces than threats

I have work friends but they are a different category from regular friends. I'm more inhibited around them (or at least try to be). At the end of the day your colleagues and you have got together to make money as opposed to socialise.

Yeah it's the so-called slippery slope argument people are making that countries which have legalised assisted dying so far have tended towards making increasingly more people eligible over time.

Conflicted on that tbh. Slippery slope is one of the classic logical fallacies but that doesn't necessarily mean it can't happen.

Tagentially related, but have you seen that new movie Heretic, OP? Think you'd like it.

It was the 8th century - cut him some slack lol. Of course his views are going to seem antiquated. My point was that you are throwing the baby out the the bath water by condemning an entire civilisation.

Edit: you are falling prey to the same fallacy of judging ancient thinkers by modern standard that led to Edinburgh University students calling for David Hume to be cancelled for an "offensive" footnote.

Just saw another TikTok where he declared himself leader of the “Rizz Dems” and started “mewing” 🤦‍♂️

The engine itself is clearly optimised to build fortnite and everything else needs to bend it to suit any other style of game.

I remember discovering Wings restaurant in town after reading another one of these threads on the other place about 10 years ago. Happy to see that it is still going and thriving after visiting again this week.

I'll recommend Uno Mas cocktail bar at the top of Broughton Street, across from the Omni centre. It's down a set of stairs in the venue that used to be GHQ without a large sign so it is easy to miss. Amazing cocktails and particularly good pints of Guiness (apparently the trick is to clean the taps twice a week). Staff are nice too.

Interesting interview - it is incredibly spicy at points. Both of them lost their cool at several points here and I don't think either of them come out sounding good.

For what it's worth I think Hallam's spiel about acting emotionally instead of using critical thinking sounds pretty suspect but clearly he's found this an effective line to take when campaigning.
