Honestly it seems fine to me. The gains are small enough that it probably won't be worth doing on most ice maps because unlike in the vid, most ice maps aren't a straight line. Ice wiggles aren't usable on turns.

Realistically every instance can monetize in whatever way they see fit but I highly doubt this'll be a thing. Mastodon is way bigger and more expensive than Lemmy and it runs just fine through donations. No reason why the same won't work here.

Lemmy itself is also likely to follow in Mastodon's path by getting money from sponsorships and fundraisers. See https://www.investopedia.com/how-mastodon-makes-money-7482865

Seems like the model is too big to try for free on Huggingface. I guess I'll wait until someone hosts this for others to try.

Honestly it sucks for twitter users but they really needed to touch grass anyways lol, curious to see how this goes

Darn. I guess I'll be spending my time in the free multiplayer server playing random community maps again this season.

Mmmm, good point.

Server feels a lot better now than it did an hour ago. Comments are going through quickly and upvotes are working for me.

Skull and Bones has been in development hell for such a long time that I feel Ubisoft gave up on it. There hasn't been much advertisement for it and everyone made it clear they don't want it. Besides, Sea of Thieves already beat it as the popular pirate game.

Success?! Hello from 0.18 :)

The UI is a lot smoother. Feels good man.

Edit: servers are very sluggish though. Hopefully this gets fixed without needing to roll back.

  • Unverified accounts to 600 posts/day

  • New unverified accounts to 300/day"

Isn't that like 30 minutes of browsing? What a crazy decision.

Any counterarguments?

None from me. I've tried a lot of engines before sticking with Godot and it's definitely the most polished and feature-rich open source game engine so far. Another one that's also very far into development is Defold, it's worth a look if you want to focus on web or mobile games.

Big if true. Is there a huggingface link to try the model?

Don't you just love online-only games with shaky servers? The same exact thing happened with Diablo 3's launch.

I had a lot of fun with this game but the developers have made the very weird decision of temporarily shutting down the game until next year.

The devs said they're going to rebuild parts of the game and add way more content and do a sort of "soft reboot". They announced this plan in March, but the game has officially shut down today.

As per this post, it seems Lemmy World is having federation issues. I've had some of my posts and comments get suspiciously low response, so I've looked into it and it turns out that many of them aren't showing on other instances.

Here's an example: my Payday 3 post is only visible on Lemmy.world:

Meanwhile, in other instances, it doesn't show up at all:

It's not clear if this issue is exclusive to this instance but I thought I'd give people a heads up. I reposted and now it showed up in other instances. If you feel like you're getting no response from other communities, check on another instance if your content is visible, otherwise repost it.

Reposting because it appears my last post didn't go through (Lemmy.world is suffering from some federation issues right now)

This means you can't pass the game around to your friends or sell it afterwards, which completely ruins the purpose of physical media imo. I mostly play PC these days so this doesn't affect me, but it's a disappointing direction for console games. At least they could've used an empty disc that has proof of ownership.

EDIT: Bethesda has confirmed that only the PC version won't include a disc. Physical versions of Xbox will include a disc. Whew.
