Important to include:

This data is part of an early study and doesn’t paint the whole picture. “Our study has several limitations. First, our mortality data, while detailed and recent, only includes approximately 80 percent of deaths in the US. However, excess death patterns in our data are similar to those in other reliable sources,” the study said. “Second, because we did not have information on an individual’s vaccination status, analyses of the association between vaccination rates and excess deaths relied on county-level vaccination rates. Third, our study is based on data from the only states where we could obtain voter registration information (Florida and Ohio); hence, our results may not generalize to other states.”

Vaccine status probably has some effect, but we can’t know from this study. I assume the greater factor is age: older people tend to be more conservative.

I pray for the day when society can move past Trump. He's fun to watch, but he's so narcissistic and abrasive that he's also irritating. The media and people on social media don't help either since they "hate" him so much they can't stop talking about him.

Completely agree. The one nice thing about the terrible state of US journalism for me is since no one source can be trusted, I'm compelled to look at multiple sources and critically think more.

I seem to have misunderstood your post too, lol.

And if there’s systems in place to deal with unmoderated communities.

This made me (incorrectly) assume the intent of your comment.

The moderation tools are pretty similar to most other platforms, as you neatly laid out.

This community is moderated. We receive reports and will act on them if the reported content breaks the rules in the sidebar: there is no racism or bigotry, no personal insults, and u/stanleytweedle has not been spamming.

We tend to forget that other people's ideologies can't be boiled down to left or right, so we get the "conservative = bad" or "liberal = bad" mentality. Which is unproductive and only increases the radicalism that most people of most ideologies hate.

If a child is under any psychological distress, permanent physical modifications shouldn't be an option: the distress is psychological, not physical. Psychological distress should be addressed by a psychologist, maybe a psychiatrist, not a surgeon. Personally, I believe that care should include helping the child to be comfortable with themselves in their own body, as that will help not only in the case of the child's current gender dysphoria, but also later on in adult life when reality really hits you.

In some cases, yes; in some cases, no. Depends on the case. When have I personally said otherwise?
