anything to avoid paying you a living wage.

but I must admit I still don’t participate here as much because the content I’m seeing it’s not as tailored to my interests as I’d like. Searching for communities tends to show a lot of communities with no participation at all, which is useless

yeah that's the unfortunate thing about a smaller site! but the onus is on all of us to start participating, so even if you see an empty community, just post something in there!

would prefer free market solns where the state has to abide by the rules of the people

you can try selecting "don't recommend this channel" on some of the more radical ones!

because reddit was a firehose of low-effort posts. A lot of times if you don't reply quick enough your post gets buried under 100 other witty puns and nobody ever reads it.

I'm probably not a power user, but I don't see why at least 50% of evernotes' features can't be replicated on a simple folder in google drive with a few docs in it.

damn, there are more top mods than i thought! I remember stumbling on one "powermod" but it turns out they aren't even on this list.

That's a fair point, but antiwork as a brand is effectively a laughing stock now. Anybody who wants to discredit the movement now and in future will simply point to the Fox News interview. If the conspiracy theories were true, the false flag operation worked.

My original point still stands - the antiwork sub is a mix of people with different goals. That's not sustainable. fuckcars as a movement is more homogenous, so it works.

businesses: "we had to raise our prices because of supply and demand, it's just natural economics"

also businesses: "why can't we get good workers at this shitty wage, we've tried everything!"

hey you're the guy who didn't shit, how did that go!

[–] seeCseas 7 points 1 year ago

yes, you can! you just have to search for "all" instead of "local" under Communities!

as far as i know the ones that are defederated are the tankie / potentially offensive ones, but let me know if i'm wrong!

Why YSK: It's cleaner, cheaper and more convenient than toilet paper

Why YSK: Since May 2018, all newly-built cars sold in the United States are required to have a backup camera and video display for the camera. Many car dealers, both used and new, will advertise the backup camera as some kind of added luxury or special option and try to charge you more for it. Don't bite the bait and understand that it is 100% a legal mandate to have it, like seat belts or air bags.

Why YSK: Service Dog etiquette is to leave them alone as to not distract the dog's focus. If they're approaching you, they could be using a last ditch effort to save their owner. They will usually follow you, whine, bark, or otherwise try to grab your attention if this is the case.

Why YSK: The term "Genuine Leather" is a marketing term to sell the lowest quality leather possible.

When purchasing a leather product, look for full grain leather or top grain leather instead. These will provide a much higher quality cut of leather that will look and feel much better and last for much longer.

Why YSK: If you ever need any of these things (eg you fell into hardship), just look for the nearest Sikh temple. While you’re there, please respect their culture and cover your hair while you’re in the prayer hall or in “langar” hall. A langar hall is where the food is served. If you like you can also volunteer to help in the kitchen and elsewhere.

A place to discuss positive changes that can make work more equitable, and to vent about current practices. We are NOT against work or anti-work; we just want the fruits of our labor to be recognized better.
