Yeah it's the same thing. If you need to connect to a database a lot that usually is more expensive, but static site generators are cheap to host.
How does it compare to the developer experience of Shopify? I hated Shopify. Unforgivable that there wasn't even a way to have a dev environment, but this was a few years ago.
I'm not sure this is something I've thought I want. It's very rare for a touch to not work as expected.
You can save a lot of money with an open source CMS that has low hosting requirements.
What's astonishing to me is the amount of people who seem to think that because the GDPR exists -- they're entitled (by birthright I guess) to someone else's labor. It feels like we're bordering on feudalism the way people act like they're owed something from developers.
You're being dense, the reason is devs get burned out and you're asking them to do work for free.
This is honeypot security and is a best practice

We're in a similar spot! I had the same question and unfortunately I don't know, I've only seen one update come through Immich since I've had it and it was non-breaking. Tipi just said "check the release notes before updating" -- I clicked the "update" button in Tipi and Immich magically updated. My plan if there are more breaking updates is to check out the Tipi Discord and ask there.
Thanks! I set it up last night after getting advice here!
Yeah I remember there being a way to use a local IDE but no way to do a local development environment.
