Well ... that sure is an accurate title.

I'm pretty sure it is not her personal responsibility to solve the climate crisis on the behalf of the rest of humanity. That would probably be best left to various subject matter experts, which I believe she has said many times.

Really nice article, well worth reading! It's just astonishing that projects like hers have difficulties finding funding. It seems like a great idea to closely scrutinize these large institutional landowners. For example, here in Sweden the Swedish protestant church is also a large landowner and I imagine that they don't seek to use their land as a carbon sink.

“Looking at the world not as countries, but as institutions—she was the only one who had done that,” says Carl Steinitz

Upvote for the graceful edit. Cheers!

This seems quite reasonable to me, and if you are doing the more risky activities, then presumably you'd get some insurance to take the edge off the rescue charges.

The only way I know of for this is to use something like git-crypt. You can, for example, have a secrets.nix file that is encrypted in the repo but unencrypted when you do a checkout. This is trivially compatible with Nix Flakes since the file of secrets actually is in plain text on your system.

That's pretty cool! I've never used relm4, how do you like it? It's been a long time since i made a desktop application last and it would be fun to try it again.

Indeed, it was brought up multiple times in the linked video as well.
