Just today I replaced my master bathroom closet light switch with a zigbee smart switch that will automatically turn off when nobody is in there. I got tired of Mrs turning it on and finding it that way hours later.

I have 6 cameras running on a rpi5 and it doesn't seem challenged. I wouldn't try Frigate here but this does what I want archiving security cams to cloud.

You're going to have to get out of the house and interact with people, whether that is at work or some other group function. Some people use bars/clubs for that, others use church. Some engage in sports or gym, some join a book club. Seek out situations that force interaction with others and be open to it without making it weird by seeming needy.

If you haven't yet done it look into scrypted. I have all kinds of cameras feeding into my HKSV from home assistant and it is flawless across all devices. If I want to review video footage events I will normally go into Apple Home versus manufacturer specific apps because it is just better.

I used to use homebridge as well but have since moved everything into home assistant. I then export all of my home assistant items back into Apple home for the wife acceptance factor. I can now use non-homekit items in Apple Home very easily and the homekit native items are all paired to home assistant.

It's a lot more than construction. Most landscape maintenance crews will be unstaffed, most cleaning crews will be unstaffed, many restaurants will not have cooks. The wage push from these vacancies will make prices for things spiral upward much faster than the inflation that tariffs will bring. We will all get rich because it will be required in order to afford anything! /s

Reminds me of something I read before - worth a read.

If you want to be investigate the dull James May try this.

I suspect some of you are already aware of it but I wasn't.

Another poster suggested a Russian disinformation campaign, I would suggest a more home-grown hate faction that was grown from the poll-watcher contingent. They culled and sifted lists of people that were most likely to "spoil the vote" and had nothing else to do do but harass people.

Non-alcoholic wines exist and would work just as well for deglazing but probably won't be as good on the flavor front. Most people would say that the alcohol evaporates out during cooking because it has a lower gas temp than water. Here is a study on that statement.

I love playing with my HA and associated devices. I suspect that most of you reading this get a bit of a jolt every time you add and incorporate a new sensor, camera, integration and get to play with it.

I have all the door/window sensors and locks/covers, every angle of my exterior covered with cameras, alarm, network devices, appliances, sprinklers, household devices covered.

Any ideas for a new thing I can play with?

My beloved wife is preparing to wage war against colonel Kitchener. Stand back, 7 needles in play!

This is probably the only thing I miss about that place.

I'm loving wefwef - my sadness over Apollo's demise was softened by the arrival of this great recreation...Thanks!

I use Safari on my MacBook and keybindings are not working - space for page down, left arrow for back, etc. I'm hoping this is on the roadmap somewhere.
