What is this? A community for ants !?

Sorry, I will let myself out.

Damn that would be a cool meta community to create, but i think for now we good with the world news community here that is about world news.

mmm that's cool, but that could create a new niche community like r/worldnews ( it's about hentai ), what would be perfect was if every subreddit did the same creating a lack of diversity and driving users away.

Edit: Looks like r/gifs joined as well lol

Yeah the documentation is quite lacking, some examples would be useful, but if you go to their repo along side the examples they list there a tutorial to make a power menu that does a good introduction.

Some tips I found along the way

  • The way most people calculate time is inefficient AF, they calculate it using the date command updating every 2 s or so. When you could use the date command to update the date itself, every hou, and use and the variable EWW_TIME alongside the function format_time to update the time.

To be fair I don't blame them, idk why there is not such example in the wiki to begin with.

  • The workspaces are a bit hard to do, but you can just copy someone implementation or if you are using hyprland they provide it in the

  • Define colours on a separe scss file to change themes on the fly if you want so.

  • For Variables that you update manually like volume and brightness do a polling function (checking every x sec), just go to the shortcut you defined previously ( assuming you are using a wm ) and along side the command to change the volume/brightness run eww update x=$(command to get current value)

SwayFX by default is just sway, to add sweet stuff go to their wiki and see the extra configs that they define and edit your config to your hearts's contempt.

I don't see that as a problem nowadays, more and more the desktop side of things is moving to cloud native, you got all sorts of containers for apps not packaged in your distro repos, containers like flatpak, snap, appimage etc..., and if you just want something available in other distro you could use distrobox.

It's quite cool and if it means developers spend less time packaging stuff and more improving Linux as a whole I am all for it.

Totally the times we are living in are interesting AF if you abstract yourself from the present picture like

"AI taking and automating jobs, what will those silly humans do ?"

"Damn they really got of that pandemic fast, at least the developed societies, think about it three years, bro, and it was gone. A couple hundred..., decades ago this would not be possible "

"Planet Earth on a climatic crisis, will humanity persevere, will they revert those changes, how would they take out big oil?"

"Global conflicts emerging, food and hunger on low developing countries, depressed and aging population on developed ones, will this dummy humans ever get an hold of themselves?"

Totally interesting topics for an alien overlord, but for us are just topic of our daily doom scroll and anxiety, 1984 similar books are interesting AF, now living them is a total different story (pun intended)
