After some quick reading, a big thing is that you want an EV with a cooled and heated battery if you live in areas that see snow. And if you live in a warm area you'll want a battery pack that is actively cooled, as overheating will also cause poor performance, and can become damaged if they get hot enough.

According to a South Korean fine Tesla was given, their cars can apparently drop in range by about 50% if the temperature is around -15C(5F), compared to 20C(68F). With many other EVs also dropping by up to 40% because of battery temperature.

They were already fined in South Korea in January, for lying about the range(it was only $2.2m, but it shows that there are regulations and ramifications).

And it looks like there is evidence of them intentionally making their "remaining distance" softawre lie, and more. So it wouldn't surprise me if the EU is getting involved, which means there might be much bigger fines coming.

A quick search shows he was high on "flakka", tried to ram the outermost fence and barely missing an officer. He then tried to climb the fence, got stuck in the razorwire. He ended up spitting on officers and resisting arrest, and was in the end charged with: "aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, battery on a law enforcement officer, three counts of felony criminal mischief, leaving the scene of a crash with property damage and driving under the influence".

He was held without bail and probably saw time(It happened in 2015 and there are no followup articles and I can't see the case, but he was arrested in 2021 and 2022 according to some court filings so he's still doing stupid things).

Also: They changed the picture.

That's because they all think they are the special individual that will be given special treatment and that all the bad things will happen to groups they don't like.

Because they are stupid.

That's why we got the famous direct quote: "He's not hurting the right ones".

It's the classic metric issue.

A third or so of the country wants America to "lead" and not "follow". So they resist change they percieve as being pushed on them from outside, no matter how logical or beneficial.

Here's what seems like a major contributor:

With these sources:

Celtic Myth and Religion: A Study of Traditional Belief by Sharon Paice Macleod

Some the things in the post seem to be from the book "Celtic Smiths and Satirists: Partners in Sorcery" by M. Randolph

Although I think the "they weren't allow to marry" was more that they became hated for abusing their power, so it was more likely a "they shouldn't be allowed to be happy" type of deal. But I didn't read enough to check that out fully.

Are you trying to make a joke? Or did you not get that the comment you replied to is also a joke?

Musk wasn't kicked out over the name though, well not just the name.

The board removed him as CEO because Thiel literally quit the company. Since Musk demanded he rewrite Confinity from unix to windows(since the x.com backend and it's stupid e-mail based banking was made for windows and Musk doesn't understand unix/linux...(that's why he doesn't know about x.org for instance.)).

Confinitys better method and code-base was basically what Musk bought when they "merged" the companies. And everyone else on the board knew that PayPal wouldn't get anywhere if they did what Musk said. So they had "secret" board meeting and replaced Musk with Thiel, and the rest of PayPal is history.

He had x.com before that.

He's going full circle by now having it redirect to twitter, and will probably be the main page soon.

It wouldn't surprise me if Zuckerberg hired them.

The memes about him have been a lot less derisive, and recently they are semi-positive towards him/meta, people were reasonable in the response to his green screen grilling video and there are jokes about them changing the Threads logo high up on lemmy, etc. And he registered an X logo as trademark to potentially counter Musk.

But honestly we might never know. I doubt they went to work for someone as self-destructive as Musk.
