Starting with games like Rad Racer and RC Pro Am on the NES, I must have put 10s of thousands of hours into hundreds of different racing games over the years. But try to talk to anyone about it, and it's all gatekeeping all the time.

"Your favorite is too arcade-y for a real fan, noob." "You turn on anti-lock braking? You aren't sophisticated enough to join my clan, peasant." Shit like that. I'm sure lots of other genres have similar fuckwads that think they are the gods of the gaming world.

This is the most correct explanation, but the first panel is still written poorly.

"Not to be racist, but" implies he's about to do something that could be interpreted as racist. They both know it's the watermelon candy that would carry that baggage. It would make more sense to say "I'm not racist, so here's a blue jolly rancher."

Australia is on the underside of the earth. "Down Under" isn't just some funny saying.

The flip over the edge happens near the island from Lost. New Zealand is in a superposition, existing on the top and the bottom, and also neither. That's why some maps don't include it at all.

My neighborhood is pretty close to one another through church. Except my house. I barely know my neighbors' names, and don't socialize at all.

A new family moved in and stopped by. They wanted some information on TNR through the local animal shelters. The word got around that we're the only people who will do something about strays. So we know for sure we're known as the cat people.
