I'm talking about "the big one" though which is long overdue

I've never been further north than Edmonton in that province ha

Living in a resort town isn't as good as you might think. You get annoyed by tourists very quickly and eventually you end up taking the place for granted anyway

Alberni is amazing but I wouldn't live there due to natural hazard risk. If there is a tsunami (and that's not even an if, it's long overdue) the town will be gone. And there will be no way to evacuate because there is only one way out

Alberta is the most taxed province as far as income tax though I think

All of canada seems to be shamed for trying to protect its culture to be fair. The government actively tries to guilt trip us

Not really. I grew up in rocky mountain house. One of the most conservative ridings in all of canada, and I grew up surrounded by atheism for the most part. It's way more atheist now compared to then as well

Alberta is nothing like Texas. Alberta is largely an atheist population for one thing

Coming next there too

Yukon is a very special place to say the least. Think Alaska but with extreme friendliness and a left wing attitude.

I'm part of the university community and I don't know a single person who is not happy to see this go.

The thing that makes me angriest I think is I agree with their message but the way they went about this was straight up wrong and made all Palestine supporters look bad.

Camp has been evacuated but they left all their trash for the groundskeepers making above barely minimum wage to clean up.

I have important people in Poland but I can't speak polish and I'm not in the EU.

In the past I've failed at calling local flower shops then bank transferring the money. Things are lost in translation and it's been awkward 2 out of 2 times now.

There must be some middleman I can use. I could ask the recipient in question but I want it to be a surprise obviously.

Any ideas?

Why are BC residents at the mercy of tourism when we literally use the ferries to live? Ferries are completely unusable in the summer that I just plan my life so that I don't need to go the mainland and I think that's unfair. You know, considering we pay taxes for this shit.

Edit: Just want to express my distaste for the lemmy community yet again. I posted this as a "change my view" sort of thing and you all just downvote it into disappearance. There are very good comments in this thread that real people put effort into. If you disagree, simply don't vote at all. I didn't break any rules. This behaviour is what prevents this platform from growing.

On a discussion about a revolution in Canada I merely suggested that there are no resources to protect the rich in the event of a revolution breaking out.

I even went on to explain I can't even kill ants though so count me out.

Perma banned for inciting violence, appeal gives you 100 characters to explain so I won't bother. How do you appeal a site wide ban in one sentence?

12 years of contributing to IT communities and it's all gone, that's what I'm upset about.
