To be fair, they do take up space. But that's only because sidewalks tend to be made so narrow.

Pretty much. It's the one thing you can reliably do on your own.
All the rest involves influencing large companies and politicians to change. It's valid and important, but more difficult and not guaranteed.
I don't avoid them, but I always try to pay with Pasmo. It's so quick and convenient.
So ultimately it's not even aid, it's a subsidy to its own arms industry

A great summer snack is raw veggies (carrots, bell peppers, cucumbers) dipped in hummus. To make the hummus you just throw chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, salt and garlic into a food processor. Really quick and easy.
