Completely agree and loved the Tom Scott video.
But I will say, people “trust” technology for their money/banking without issue, and I think the average person worries about that a little more than voting.
But yes I agree, at least until better technology is available, we should just stick with paper ballots and old fashioned counting.
A mix of Mlem and Memmy. Both are in TestFlight but they are solid options. Not sure which I prefer more yet though.
Definitely nightmare fuel.
Another scary outcome I heard is that even if they float back to the surface, they are bolted/locked in and would still need to be found and let out from the outside. Supposedly they would be tough to locate even if they are at the surface. That would be horrifying.
Yup, I always tell friends/relatives this.
Just pick up a mix of the below and set it & forget it.
80/90% of funds into these:
- VOO
- VTI
- QQQ (or alternative for nasdaq etf)
- Little bit of JEPI/JEPQ for Income
10/20% into individual companies you like.
I think it’s helpful to put some money into individual stocks that way you get a feel/understanding of the market. Plus I feel like they will be more invested/interested in learning when it’s a single company vs ETF of 500+ companies.

I’ve taken a few vape pens and edibles on domestic US flights, but wouldn’t risk anything involving international travel.
Yup finally seeing a lot of good conversations now. Which was really always the best part of Reddit.
So crazy.
But yea I guess all things considered it’s a better option than suffocating/freezing to death. What a terrible situation.
