You think most adults were 100lbs heavier than me at 18?

No. I never said that. I have no idea why you think I did?. According to Guinness, the heaviest baby ever birthed was 22lbs in 1879 (and only lived a few hours). I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess you were born weighing less than that, and spent a considerable portion of your early years weighing less than most adults.

I think you're construing this into specifically abusive and destructive people. Those do exist, but my comment was referring to a broader scope. Anger can be a valid emotion, and there are healthy and unhealthy ways of handling it.

Ultimately, my point is that the original comment I replied to was ridiculous.

I straight up don't believe that you were never in a room with an angry adult as a child. Personally I was never sexually or physically abused, but I know plenty of people who have been. A lot of strides have been made over the last several decades to improve parenting, but no one can be perfect for 18 years. Plus you add in teachers, coaches, or other community leaders that might be trusted with children.

The most important part of my comment was just pointing out the absurdity of the comment I was replying to. I could also point out the extent of hyperbole they used- the average American adult male is ~30 lbs heavier than the average American adult female, per the CDC. Or... Well, I could dive deeper into it but ultimately this whole conversation is based in bigotry and isn't worth looking at much more closely than that.

On the contrary I think you'll find close to 100% of them were indeed children at one point.

And the question was designed to create this divide

It's literally just a classic page from the bigot's playbook, but since it's being used against cishet men for some reason that makes it okay?

If JK Rowling said she would rather go to a bathroom with a bear than a trans woman I think we would all rightfully call that hate speech.

If a white supremecist said this about black people it would be dismissed as racist nonsense. I've seen a lot of defenders saying that this is somehow different because violence by cishet men against women is real. How many years have racists loved to use the good ol' "did you know x% of crimes are committed by x% of the population" tactic for?

And I see the "not all men" getting tossed around. How is that any different from saying "I know not all Muslims are terrorists. The good ones know we aren't talking about them"? Change the conversation from cis men to anything else and it gets called out as hate speech. It does nothing to help solve any issues or lead to a better society.

This may go down in history as one of the worst app updates of all time. Tons of user complaints about features missing or broken. Personally I seem to be unable to switch it to Line-In... Which makes it completely useless as my main TV speakers as it doesn't have Bluetooth or any other way to connect to my TV.

I think you'll find most satanists like Carl Sagan just as much or even more than Satan.

Pretty terrible.

To start she's 74 years old. Not as old as Biden or Trump, but still well past the age any sane person should be retired.

She has had a ton of pro-Russian policies, had dinner with Putin, and a senate investigation found that a Russian propaganda firm was using social media to promote her, though they did not find any direct link indicating that she hired them. She refused to commit to remain in NATO when asked and has questioned US support of Ukraine. There's a particularly damning interview here where she just spouts a bunch of pro-Russian talking points about how Ukraine was historically a part of Russia or something. I'm not convinced that she's a Russian asset, but if Putin wanted to create a candidate that could split the left in the US while still pushing pro-Russian policies it's hard to imagine anyone better than Stein. Heck, she was pro-Brexit.

As far as the actual policies she claims to support, there's actually a lot i like about her. However, there's a few red flags: she wants to ban Wi-Fi in schools out of concerns it could damage children's brains. She's also anti-nuclear energy, which makes me question how serious she is about moving away from fossil fuels. She also wants to ban GMO foods. I would not call her an anti-vaxxer per se (she has explicitly stated that the whole "vaccines cause autism" thing is BS), but she has been criticized for promoting vaccine hesitancy, especially around mercury. Basically when it comes to technology she acts her age and just seems terrified of anything someone told her could be dangerous even when there's no scientific evidence of that.

Completely unrealistic. No cop in the USA would ever think you need a license to walk, or care about it.

Now if the cop accused OP of the terrible crime of jaywalking then I might believe it.

Microsoft becoming the next EA or Activision. Buying up studios only to run them into the ground.

Tough call between the Dualsense and the Dualshocks 1-3.

The Dualsense has great features, but is large enough and bulbous enough that I'm forced to use a full palm grip. That's good some of the time, but sometimes I like a lighter finger grip that the earlier Dualshocks allowed for. I think of it similarly to claw vs palm grips on mice. A full palm grip on either can get too sweaty over time. The Dualshock 4 is a bulbous mess that fatigues my hands. On all of them, the plastic feels premium and sturdy and really fits well together. Plastic molding is an art, and they are good at it.

I have a few 8BitDo's and they are all good too. The Pro-2, SN30 Pro, and Ultimate C (their naming conventions are flour of control). A bit cheaper feeling than the Sony offerings, but still pretty good.

The Xbox Series controller is... Fine. The plastic feels cheap, the face buttons feel cheap, it's too big and requires a palm grip, the R1/L1 buttons feel cheap, the d-pad is one of the worst in history. The analog sticks almost feel great except they're too tall.

Shout-out to the Steam Deck for feeling phenomenal. Also shout-out to the RetroBit Genesis controllers- they feel really good, but the lack of sticks and fewer buttons than most modern controllers makes it hard to use for modern games.

The JoyCons are awful. Most 3rd party options are better but I still haven't found one that I really like.

The GameCube and N64 both feel kind of cheap. I think the plastic is a bit thin, and the sticks and buttons rattle around slightly.

What are you talking about?

Sony's Japan studio's own library was always gimmicky games that were basically tech demos- Ape Escape was for the Dual Analog controller, LocoRoco for the PSP, Gravity Rush for the Vita, Knack to be a pack-in for the PS4, and games for VR, Move Eye toy, etc. In fact it's kind of hard to find games they did on their own because they've always been mostly a support studio even going back to the PS1's launch lineup, and they are continuing that. There have been several studios that make original games that started as part of Sony Japan that have been spun off into separate teams too.

I'm struggling to think of many studios Sony has closed. Sony London studios was similar to Japan- mostly just games to go with hardware gimmicks like the EyeToy, SingStar, and Wonderbook. It's even harder to find studios that Sony has purchased and then closed or turned into a support studio- I guess you could count that Psygnosis was purchased and merged into London studios back in the 90's, but considering they went 20 years between that merger and closing I doubt there were many Psygnosis devs left there.

A quick search pulls up PixelOpus, a tiny studio Sony formed from 9 college grads with a couple of industry veterans to lead them They released 2 small games and were closed last year.

I don't mean to be too defensive of Sony- they did close one of their own studios and laid off ~900 people this year. But it's not really a comparison to Microsoft who now has a long history of buying 3rd party studios, mismanaging them, and closing them.

I'm also confused about your comment about Xbox making more single player games than Sony. First of all... I would expect that to generally be true. It looks like Sony owns 21 studios while Microsoft had 40 as of the Activision-Blizzard acquisition. And while a lot hasn't been announcedwith release dates, we know of a handful of single player games Sony has in the works- Horizon 3, TLOU3, Ghosts of Tsushima 2, and new IP's from Bend, Housemarq, and BluePoint. Plus Wolverine, and you could argue whether Physint should count or not since that's a partnership between Kojima and Sony-owned Columbia Pictures. If you're trying to imply that Sony is abandoning single-player games or something that's pretty far from the truth.
