The amount of websites isn't what eventually consolidated. Internet traffic did, and the value of domains went way down. That's why it's described as a bubble.
Anywhere and everywhere that isn't a scam site. Etsy, ebay, local and small business websites directly, b&h, sweetwater, newegg.
I just stopped shopping at amazon altogether. My online shopping experience has improved a lot since then.
The vast majority of businesses don't own domains and host their own websites which is what the .com bubble was. They host pages on Etsy, Facebook, squarespace, WordPress etc etc.

The modern tech industry is all about building products that generate hype to impress the shareholders. Building good functional products to impress the consumer isn't necessary if you can simply put on a flashy show for the geriatric billionaires.
Conspiracy theorists aren't actually truth seekers. They're not out to discover the truth. They want to proclaim the truth and feel like special people who have hidden knowledge so they can feel superior. It's all about their ego, their sense of security, and nothing else.
All of this stuff is out in the open for all to see so the theorist nut jobs don't get to feel special by trying to expose it.
I'm not a huge fan of liberals either but anyone with a brain can see that modern conservatives are anti-intellectual hate cult retards who think that truth is dictated by consensus and proclamation, and they deserve to be as unpopular and ridiculed as they are because they had decades to prove that their punitive ideological approach works and they failed horribly.
