Mastodon is and has been the Twitter replacement for awhile.

I think a part of the "giving up to reddit mods" is the hopes that it will incentivise the reddit mods to push their subreddit to the community instead of trying to keep people on reddit just to maintain power.

Personally I have made several communities that I enjoyed in reddit. While I dont mind modding it's kind of a pain in the ass as well though.

I would like to see a comment sorting option in general like on the webpage.

Magazine is the term used for kbin.social users like @[email protected] who is a Kbin user. In Lemmy they are called communities.

Considering the current state of other subs turning to NSFW content to hurt Reddits chances with advertisers I imagine that is what happened.

Seems like it was an innocent enough thing that happened at a bad time and you got hit by it by either accident or another mod stabbing you in the back.

Same. It would be nice to not be at the mercy of the reddit admins. Hopefully with enough traction we can grow a community outside of there. Time will tell though.
