Heroes of Might and Magic II, using the fheroes2 recreation engine.

A track from Eminem’s first, experimental album Infinite, from 1996. The entire album has a different, softer, relaxed vibe compared to his later, much more successful work. I’ve always liked it since I first listened to it back in the early 2000s.

Yep, it definitely had a very distinct sound to it, even for then. But it was reflective of some of the experimentation going on in rock at that time (e.g. Limp Bizkit).

My favorite, from these guys. Released in 1999.

My favorite song from this band.

For those not familiar, it's a 3D (with VR support) remake of Riven, which was originally released in 1997 as a "point and click" sequel to the classic adventure and puzzle-solving game Myst.

Definitely one of the great rock songs from the early 90s.

Good alternative rock song from the late 2000s.

Yeah, definitely one of their best!

One of my favorites from the 2000s.

Great song from the late 90s. Metallica's Whiskey in the Jar is a cover of Thin Lizzy's version of this old Irish folk music.

Great alternative rock song from the early 90s.

From 2001. Definitely one of their best.

One of my favorites from the 90s.

Yep, one of the very best from the 1990s! I drive routes for a living and love listening to music like this in my big truck.

One of their best.

Right on! I just recently turned 40 myself.

Yeah, I first heard it as a college student on a local alternative rock station back in the early 2000s. They kept playing it well into the 2010s. I haven't heard it much on the radio recently, though.

That sounds extremely infuriating! Regarding Lenovo and Linux Mint, I actually had a very good experience with them a little over a year ago. I bought a new IdeaCentre 5i pre-built desktop tower and had zero issues installing Mint on it. All I had to do was press F12 and select to boot from the bootable USB to install, no screwing with the BIOS or anything. But I've never tried installing Linux on a laptop. I only use desktops.

That's too bad. I remember reading it some back in 2022 and 2023. Best wishes to the author.

Yeah, I started playing back in 1996 too. I haven't actually played with Daggerfall Unity since late 2017, so I am excited to try it in its current form at some point soon. I want to try it out with the DREAM, World of Daggerfall, and Real Grass mods (and maybe some others).

Great news, I've been using Linux Mint (Cinnamon) since 2016 as my only operating system without any regrets. The newer versions of Cinnamon keep getting more and more stable too. I have virtually no hard crashes or freezes anymore.

Yep. Windows XP was my last Windows and when it became obsolete I permanently switched to Linux Mint (without dual-booting). Everything that I use has worked very well. I've never even thought about switching back to Windows.

Yeah, I'm around 40 and I played these games as they were coming out back in the 1990s. I call them either "FPS" or "Retro FPS"...

People born in the 1940s/50s never played them much. Although my dad did play Wolfenstein3D and Doom some, but that was not common for people in his age group.
