They can see what you post, but not your IP, first name, OS, screen density, headphone volume…. Etc.

Seriously? I’ve never even given it an email I use, let alone phone number, where do they get off asking for ID?
Right, it wouldn’t need to communicate to corporate, just to the app itself.

Is this expected with how the local instance and federation work?
I joined a music focused instance but I have interests outside of music. I’m reluctant to subscribe to too much non-music stuff because my understanding is it would cause my subs to populate the instances ‘all’ page for all other users on my instance.
Doesn’t your situation just mean that someone else on your instance subscribed to NSFW stuff and those subs are very active?
I have just assumed my ears aren’t great anymore. Too many band rehearsals and shows, or headphones. Recently I’ve come to realize my chronic sinus congestion probably fucked them up as much as my rock n roll lifestyle.
It’s nice to hear the sound is bad and it’s not just that I’m bad at hearing it.

I'd guess it's not federated, meaning the instance where the community was created is not configured to allow subscription access from other instances, but you can access it by reaching that instance directly.
So do you prefer the sounds it makes? Or is it just quick and easy?
