I think a better way to phrase it is that Jesus is very anit-exploitation of others.

I'm not sure I'd go so far as to say that Jesus is anti-private ownership of the means of production of goods and service. Capitalism can and has been done without it. Unfortunately people are scum and the free market tends to reward those who are able to successfully exploit others.

For all that offseason hype and hoopla, we Steelers sure have not looked too good these first 12 minutes or so

Y'know - I think stacking cinder blocks and some pavers on top would actually work just fine. Just angle the cinder blocks so the ones at the bottom have the holes poking out (and into the enclosure) and that should provide enough airflow to keep it from getting too hot in there.

Heck, you could probably angle them all that way except for the top ones. I haven't seen videos of battery fires, but unless they're like really really flammable, the fire shouldn't burn out from around the several inches of concrete that surrounds it.

Remember fire burns up so the pavers and concrete blocks at the top will be what are actually blocking the most.

Unfortunately it's the platform a significant portion of our friends and family are using that we don't see on a regular basis, and if we want to be able to easily share our lives with them without resorting to long-form emails or letters, it's a convenient go-to. At some point I absolutely have it on my to-do list to spin up a Diaspora server of my own, but until then our content would still have to be living on someone else's server, and it becomes kind of an apples-vs-oranges conversation for which one would be better.

Thanks guys. I really appreciate the feedback 🙂

This has certainly given me a bit to chew on, so far as being more careful with our children's digital footprint at this stage of life. We do ensure to tick the boxes for "only friends" on the pictures we share, but I am aware that once something is out there it's out there, particularly as who knows what kinds of inner closet demons our friends have that they would never share with us. And just because I'm more of an open book kinda guy and haven't minded at all when my own mom has shared old pictures of me as a toddler running around in a diaper, doesn't at all mean my children will feel the same way. I'll be sure to bring this up with my wife sometime sooner rather than later.

Over the weekend my wife snapped a few pictures of our 22mo running around splashing in a lake wearing nothing except a shirt and a swim diaper. My wife was quite taken aback when she uploaded the photo to Facebook, and had the picture removed for nudity / inappropriate content. We all rolled our eyes and figured this was just an overtrained AI being an overtrained AI, but it's got me wondering - is this attire getting to the point at this age where it really is inappropriate, and I'm just too fuzzed out from taking care of babies to notice? Curious to hear ya'lls thoughts.

It's just incredible what they can do with stem cell technology these days

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission has approved another toll increase.

The commission approved a 5% increase for 2024 for all E-ZPass and toll-by-plate customers.

And then there's those of us who stick 8-foot boards diagonally through their Honda Civics so a couple inches are sticking out the front passenger and rear driver windows.

Coincidentally, by far the most use my dad's pickup truck bed gets is when I borrow it from him to really load up at Home Depot.

The earth was in an ice age around 19,000 - 26,000 years ago - perhaps it started around then when everything was quite a bit cooler.

Might wanna do the poor bloke a favor and teach him about how to properly use ramps

About 36 hours ago, it seemed like Pennsylvania was on track to have a state budget signed by the weekend. But we don’t. And it seems Democrats and Republicans are further apart than ever with Governor Josh Shapiro caught in the middle.

Last year Pickett had one of the worst yards/attempt ratios in the league. If he fails to improve noticeably in this area or maintains a lot of incompletions, might be worthwhile to change things up.

So long as this season is a noticeable improvement skill-wise and he maintains the goodwill and support of the locker room, I'd say we keep him.

I think I'd only even consider zap dragon if there was an air defense and air sweeper right next to each other so I could take out both at once.

Depending on the base, dragbat scales up a lot more nicely up into even the TH15 meta.

It probably is that popular among this crowd. There's options to self-host your own Bitwarden instance IIRC.

I've started migrating away from LastPass and am using Bitwarden for new projects personally. LastPass is way better than nothing, but I wouldn't recommend LastPass over Bitwarden these days.

According to a recent announcement, China will be imposing new regulations on the export of gallium and germanium, both of which are metals that are utilized in the production of computer chips and solar cells and are therefore vitally important. This action is seen as an escalation of the trade dispute that the United States and China are currently engaged in, and the trade dispute has been going on for a long time. The restrictions will begin to take effect on August 1, and the Chinese Ministry of Commerce has stated that their purpose is to “safeguard national security.” Despite this, the specifics of these limitations have not yet been made available to the public at this time.

5 months, 27 days old, and out of nowhere she's suddenly letting "Dadadadada"'s loose all over the place! She's not even doing any mamama's yet! I've been on cloud 9 all evening. My wife is utterly devastated.

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled 6-3 that state constitutions can protect voting rights in federal elections and state courts can enforce those provisions, in a key opinion that should safeguard the integrity of the 2024 election.

This year my wife and I have 2 under 2. We're both pretty fried right now, and other than getting together a bit in the afternoon with some family I don't think we'll be doing much of anything. That's plenty ok with me, but I still like living vicariously through other dad's weekend plans!
