And any bigots trying to "OH! so--" about conversion therapy can go fuck themselves.

My guy. We can rail against any civilization that doesn't accommodate people with normal problems, and still acknowledge we are accommodating... problems.
Providing assistance and support doesn't require pretending it's not help. Some folks need a lot of help. That's fine. But skip the pointless word games. The very name dis-ability is crystal clear about describing the lack of an ability.
Some problems, we'd just fix, if we could. Autism: no. Photosensitive epilepsy: Jesus fucking Christ, yes.
...
Someone autistic or photosensitive would do fine as a medieval peasant yet face obstacles in modern society - but physical disabilities still represent stuff you cannot do. Having one leg is bad, actually. Yes, we should accommodate the inevitable individuals suffering that malady, but it is still a malady. As surely as any disease or injury. An inability to walk is not like being taller than doorways expect or shorter than barstools anticipate. You absolutely have a problem. Expecting an advanced civilization to minimize that problem's impact is entirely reasonable and morally necessary. It is nonetheless a problem, to be minimized.
People didn't invent hills just to fuck with you. The spectrum of human existence includes people who have it fucking rough. Society did not somehow cause all the cases it can fix.
Do this for Proust and you'll obstruct traffic.
A website being in Computer Modern is really fucking with my brain.
Dotty.
Or since she's technically missing the space between spots - Phyllis.
Yeah this thread is 70% sad-sack life stories, 10% Sports Almanac financial advice, and 20% popping around the corner with a rainbow flag yelling SURPRISE!
Fun fact: the Playstation 2 launched the same day in North America.
Remember when Terragen got really good, and nobody painted landscapes anymore? No? Well there you go.
This is going to go terribly for media giants, because if they don't need people to make stuff, neither do you. You, right now, can push a button and get a deluge of whatever images you can describe. They're not great. But the technology has existed for something like eight months, and any shortcoming people can spot is feedback that makes it better.
And stop trying to ruin the term "enshittification" when this has nothing to do with monopsony.
In any case:
Demand 30-year copyright, no exceptions. We need to restore the public domain.
Mandatory licensing is unavoidably necessary with streaming's petit monopolies. All media platforms should serve all media.
Any humans left in the loop who aren't getting a cut of their runaway successes have been robbed, and the people responsible belong in jail.
Technology is never what's wrong.
You ain't straight.
Generally meaning all republicans and one democrat.
