Ah, but "The Valiant Red Rooster" was first published in 1995, which would be over 10 years too late for it to be the story I remember...

maybe! that DOES sound a lot like it! I was thinking the story I remembered was kinda like "Five Chinese Brothers", and "The Valiant Red Rooster" also sounds a lot like "Five Chinese Brothers".

I will try to find a copy of "The Valiant Red Rooster" and see if it matches my weird half-memories...

it's weird that all these articles talk about this only being a problem for people who put "reddit" in the URL; I never do that, and 90% of the time when I search Google for something (especially something about a video game), the first 5 or so results are all from reddit anyway.

I just found out about the Clock Tower chest on Midwich via a dev message in the masquerade loading screen. He said "the clock tower chest has a time correlation".

So first, I looked up how to get the chest, but now I'm wondering what the "time correlation" means. Does it mean the loot changes based on the time on the tower? Or how long EGC has been running? Anyone tested it?

Right after I've gotten steamrolled by a toxic survive-with-chat team. Then I become filled with fury, equip some iri add-ons, and proceed to decimate the next team, which is invariably a bunch of friendly solos, and the complete opposite of the previous team who made me mad. And then I feel bad about it.

I remember having a children's story read to me in the early 1980s, either in a library story time or maybe at a daycare.

In the story, a duck goes on an adventure. The duck meets several different characters who want to come along with him, and the duck carries these other characters in his gizzard, regardless of how big they are. I don't remember anything else about the plot, although presumably the duck runs into a series of obstacles and coughs up the appropriate character to help him fix each one.

This story was the first time I ever heard the word "gizzard", and now every time I hear it I think about this story.

Any ideas?
