If you expand the sidebar, down at the bottom where all the mods are listed there's a 'modlog' button.
Looking through the mod log, I don't blame them for nuking the whole thread. Your comment seemed respectable enough, but the others were devolving pretty quick.
The name of the newspaper translates to Ukrainian Truth and from what I was able to dig up seems to be a fairly reputable source, surprisingly. Here's a writeup on the Boston Globe website: Article
Doesn't appear so, the only listed mod of the community, @[email protected], hasn't had any activity for about 2 months. I'm not sure how functional the mod log search by user is, but I couldn't find any activity in there either.
Makes me wonder how much damage the tail boom could take before it would cause catastrophic failure to the rest of the airframe. The main rotors probably aren't fairing very well after a hit like this either. Could take some time to repair the damage at the very least.
Looks like it was lemmy.world that banned it. I can still see it in the list of communities on lemmy.ml, but not lemmy.world. Edit: found it in the mod log as well.
That seems pretty significant. It seems unlikely the ships would have been targeted by Russia if they were flying the flags of their country of origin, but to have an armed escort is definitely a huge deterrence. I have to wonder what sort of response it'll garner considering all the other 'unprofessional acts' Russian aircraft have been employing against unarmed US aircraft lately.
