Thank you everyone for participating. This community is growing fast and I just want to point out that with the Reddit api deadline coming soon.

Question, do we have an active mod team for this community?

I volunteer as mod. I have few qualifications, except that I have learn to love Ukraine culture over the past year. I follow Ukraine news from a wide variety of sources. I would hate to see this community stop growing because of a lack of moderation. Thank you for listening to my TED talk.

Doesn't appear so, the only listed mod of the community, @[email protected], hasn't had any activity for about 2 months. I'm not sure how functional the mod log search by user is, but I couldn't find any activity in there either.

It doesn't appear so, but a sopuli admin is a regular poster so I imagine anything untoward will be noticed.

Yes, though of course moderation can't and should not rely on admins and my time is limited these days. A few communities in Sopuli really need mods, like this one. I've personally been apprehensive towards appointing mods to communities that have already been established by someone, but we might have to step in. In the meantime, do remember to report anything site-wide rule breaking as it goes straight to admins right now.

Please don't hesitate, absentee mods are always going to be a thing and admin intervention is going to be required if we don't want to be hopping from server to server every time someone quits lemmy. Hopefully it will take some work off of your plate as well.

The owner of the instance can appoint a new mod who can then add other mods.

Has anyone contacted them?

I haven't seen any mod activity here. Not that I came across cases where it was necessary, but I definitely think there should be a small mod team...
