Hypothetically, it was supposed to be a check on the power of the counts, so that if they made a grave mistake that there was a way to overturn it. Clearly that’s not how it works in practice.

I wonder if her friend was Korean. I used to live in Korea and the currency difference is about 10:1 with Japan. I spent a weekend in Japan and made the same mistake once. I saw a 10,000¥ wallet, mistakenly did the Korean mental math (1000₩≈$1) and thought it was $10 instead of $100. Luckily the cashier corrected me before I bought it.
I can see that one - great article, thanks!
Pardon my delicate city sensibilities but I don’t think children should be working in meat processing plants surrounded by death and danger.

The dev said they’d start kicking inactive ppl soon to make room, but it hasn’t happened yet. I believe TestFlight also expires after 90 days, so if you check back you may be able to get the accelerated updates then.
The TestFlight is full :/ I didn’t get in either.
Do you have a recipe? :)
It’s because the barrier to entry was lower. Mastodon requires learning about and understanding instances and the fediverse, finding one with good performance and the vibe you want and creating a new account. For threads, you just install the app and log in with your preexisting instagram account. Even users who weren’t interested in the long term would check it out briefly, because the hype is high and it’s easy.
You can hide self identified bots in your settings, have you tried that?
Why would that be orthogonal? Most plastics are created using crude oil and natural gas feedstocks - the creation of these single use plastics directly impacts climate change.
You’re right, I hadn’t read that yet at the time I posted this.
Retraction: It appears that minors are not allowed to be working in meat processing plants, but that he was hired by an external staffing contractor who did not properly adhere to those restrictions.
