You can hide self identified bots in your settings, have you tried that?

I was referring to the massive amount of bots created on nearly completely unused instances that are currently doing nothing. They are massively inflating Lemmy’s number of users, active users is a much better indicator of real growth.

The use of captchas and email address requirements should cut down on the bot accounts at least slightly (the former more than the latter)

💯 email verification is off for this box, which kinda sketches me out.... But, privacy is way more important then the reasons i'm sketched out by that. Assuming that negativity doesn't spill over here... (Narrator: "It will.")

I'm sure It's just a matter of time before a couple usernames make me question that we're only defederated from/blocking Meta's Threads (Fuck the Zuck) and Lemmygrad.ml/.com
