Apple user here. If they don't come out with a new generation of iphone mini, I am simply going to never buy another phone again.

The first time I saw this headline I thought it was from one of those Onion offshoot websites and skimmed it over. I can't believe it's real, but I'm both delighted and dumbfounded that it is!

I choose to believe they're doing this for our entertainment. Out of the goodness of their hearts. Things have been rough lately and we all need a little silliness and fun. Thanks, guys!

I like this attitude and I agree! It's your turn to be here for our entertainment, silly rich manbabies. Dance for us!

I had no idea until recently that coffee shops are allowed to pay tipped wages instead of regular minimum wage. Right now, I am reading up on my state (Florida)'s minimum wage laws, and apparently any employee who receives tips can be considered a tipped employee, meaning if your workplace has a square POS, congrats, they are allowed to pay you $5.44/hr! The tip credit explanation is also absolutely blowing my mind with a combination of confusion and corporate greed. The fact that there is an under-20 minimum wage of $4.25/hr is absolutely mind-boggling. I could MAYBE understand this for people under 18, but people from 18-20 are adults and plenty of them have already moved out of their parents' homes. How is this okay?!?

I bought and broke a few tools trying to remove the bolts, and WD-40 didn't do jack for my rust problems, so I also ended up having to buy a mini hack saw and extra bolts. It was still an interesting endeavor. I would still do it myself again.

I was really apprehensive about working on some toilet repairs (replacing everything inside the tank). I bought a kit from Home Depot and it was basically like a giant game of adult LEGOs, complete with an illustrated instruction book. Annoyingly, I had to cut all of the existing bolts, which was difficult, and the kit only came with 2 bolts instead of the 3 I needed, but other than that, it's not rocket surgery.

I hope this whole ordeal, no matter how it goes down, ends up being a landmark for "social media as a monopoly". I think there's been a lot of talk about this in past years, with little real interest, because people are more interested in their next dopamine fix no matter how much they say they care about their data being sold. I hope this is the push we need to start considering these things for real. Most of us are uncomfortable with personal information being sold to 3rd parties, or knowing that users of these sites are technically the product being sold. It's more weird and uncomfortable knowing the CEO and other execs are throwing a tantrum because user data and user submissions AREN'T being generated for them to sell to earn money to buy some yachts and golf courses.

Should social media be a public commodity, same way a community center or library is? Something paid for by taxes and regulated by government. I think it's interesting in concept but odd to consider once you get into government censorship and surveillance aspects. Not a good idea either.

I began using reddit in 2017. I never really realized there had been a decline in quality until I recently ended up on some threads from 2017ish. I think some of it had to do with the change from a very desktop-oriented, forum-style page, to a dumbed-down mobile-friendly experience. The emphasis is now heavy on pictures, videos, instant messaging, avatars, online status, shiny award bling, infinite scrolling, etc. Reddit may not have intended it, but I feel like their target age demographic is much lower now. I'm shocked at how many regular users are still in high school or even middle school. I'd guess the kids are the ones repeating the funny jokes en masse. They're just kids being kids, but it gets old sometimes.

Being priced out of suburbia hell ended up being a good thing for me. I would've loved to have a garage and more privacy, but found those were decent trade-offs for the convenience of living in the city. There are 2 major shopping centers that I can drive to in 30 seconds or walk to in about 10 minutes.

Being able to see upvote/downvote ratios has been really interesting so far. You can see the percentages on Reddit, tho they're not totally accurate, and you'll never know exactly how many people voted. It packs more of a punch to see the real numbers. Who are the 3 people who downvoted this??? This dog is adorable!!

Auto-refresh is irking the life out of me! But I'm sure it and other issues will be addressed as this site takes off more and more :)

I exclusively used old-Reddit, and I'm not in love with the new interface yet, but it's not bad.
