Recently saw an AI made ad on YouTube that had Dutch text spoken by a German artificial voice. The add faked a Belgian Dutch speaking official news bulletin. I reported it to Google; I had to appeal their original decision to get it removed.

It makes little sense to vote third party in your current system. Electoral reform is needed to break the cycle. For example with proportional representation instead of winner takes all.

Popped to mind immediately upon seeing the word Portia

"Made unusable": that's not how it works. Even with occasional vandalism, there's so much more people positively contributing, that overall the map just keeps on getting better and better.

While we should absolutely use our backyards to make some space for nature, there's going on more than this. Even in nature reserves, insect counts seem to be going down. Last I heard, it's still not entirely clear what's going on, but probably related to certain types of pesticides.

It won't, but at least you're not part of the problem anymore. You might inspire other people to. And every person who goes plantbased makes it more politically viable to enact policies to encourage plant based over the most destructive other foods. Try to avoid discouraging people who try to do the right thing, help them make a bigger impact instead.

Didn't they have 3% economic growth last year?

There is maybe one country in the entire world where births are going up. The gist of your argument is correct, but it's not "births going up" but "the birth rate is still higher than in rich countries, even though it's been going down for a while". The general pattern that all countries go through is from high birth rate and high death rate to low birth rate and low death rate. It's just that death rate goes down way faster, because it's mostly dependent on technology, and birth rate going down requires significant behavioural changes. The population explosion in poorer countries is because death rates have gone down way faster (lots of change arrivibg suddenly) than they did in the rich countries (where thus all happened long ago, as the technology was invented). Look up population transition if you want to know more.

You do have direct control over fisheries as much as you do over straws. But indeed, don't invalidate. Say "if you like X, you might also want to do Y which has an even greater impact"
