If it helps, you're not logged into EOS automatically anymore in 1.0. You have the option for direct IP connect, Steam, or EOS.

There are many new settings that you can apply to a session. Now you can play singleplayer with all the multiplayer capabilities disabled. You can now play exclusively using Steam to connect, or exclusively use Epic Online Services, as well as choose to have Crossplay between both platforms.

Hypersomnia is a hardcore arena mixing eSports with pixely nostalgia. Every match will be unforgiving - every duel a psychological battle.

Freedoom - An FPS action game (freedoom.github.io)

In 1999 id Software released the source code to their classic game Doom (under the GNU General Public License). The game as a whole did not get this treatment, however, which means that while the program code that powers Doom is free, the actual content of Doom - graphics, audio, levels, setting and characters - remains proprietary. The Freedoom project aims to fill this gap and create a complete free and libre first person shooter game.

By itself, Freedoom is just the content of a game and must be paired with a Doom-compatible game engine to be played: the download page lists some recommended programs.

I believe classic refers to the FOSS version before the fork, while "Nexuiz" refers to the commercial version.

Since 2008. Here's some footage of the early version. In 2015 I rewrote the game in my SDL2/OpenGL based engine and redid all the content, then more or less "finished" the game in 2020-2021. I'm working on a fairly big patch right now though. Maybe in a few weeks it'll be released.

You should! Best game ever, no doubt! I also created the game so I might be a little biased 😉

Super Tux Kart, The Dark Mod, and X-Moto are great. I created the original Skate Park Mod and a few of the early "interesting replays" like Slinky Mod, German Ham, and the first "cheating" replay.
