Ooh that's a good from when I was 10, too. I didn't become fully obsessed with them until Americana, though. I don't think any other cd has ever gotten as much play as that one.

Brandy's first album. Or TLC's. Both of those tapes got played to deaaath. But my real favorite was probably whatever mixtape my sister and I had most recently made from the radio because that shit was custom. No skips.

Is that an old person sandwich? Reubens are great, but I kind of have been old since I was about 20, so maybe it is.

That's cool and all, but they fail to detect weapons all the time. Just because airport security has never been good doesn't mean we can't be critical of them now. They constantly implement new procedures that just plain don't work beyond making air travel an even bigger hassle. I don't think Lemmy users are big on privatization ever, and no one suggested that, but this kind of failure is a pretty big deal. Our demise is still an acceptable risk, except now it's because they hire people who don't give one single rat's ass, pay them poorly, and use all kinds of things that look great on the surface but aren't effective at preventing a guy from bringing a butcher knife into the airport (at what's usually a pretty slow time of night) and very nearly succeeding at murdering someone.

Thank god for the TSA, keeping us all safe from 4oz of shampoo and water bottles, though, right?

Oh jeez, you're another one of those gangstalking people, aren't you? I know there's no way you'll take me up on this because of the paranoia, but please see a therapist. No one here is equipped to help you with this, and if it goes anything like the last time, a bunch of well-meaning people will believe you and waste their time offering advice that doesn't work because this is all in your head.

Oh ok, so this is just someone not understanding what a joke is. I was expecting it to be more like, "when they said they practiced their music, that was code for killing babies!"

Wait, what were they actually talking about in the video?

For everyone who is not Saturn, eating your children is really not recommended though.

I haven't used it for personal stuff in years. My employer uses it for office supplies, so I've occasionally ordered work stuff, but even that is as little as possible, and only things where it won't matter if the quality is just so so, because you can't trust that you'll get the real thing anymore. Plus, I don't want to sift through 10k listings of sweatshop garbage to find the thing I'm looking for.

Sounds exactly like something a senile old man would say.

I mean, I get that, and the amount of rage I feel about the fact that Republicans never have any empathy for anyone they don't know is probably going to give me an ulcer, but this is good news. People changing their minds in response to new information is a positive thing, and we should encourage it. There are plenty of LGBTQ+ people whose families don't change their minds. That's how we end up with kids committing suicide or living on the streets. My extended family would never change their minds, and it's led to me cutting them off, and my cousin will never come out because I'm pretty sure his dad would kill him, or at least do his level best to beat him to death.

Anyway, I didn't mean for that to get that dark, but that's the reality for a lot of us. I'm going to welcome anyone trying to be better with open arms.
