The comment I replied to did being up the topic of colour though, just read the thread.

My response to that is that the average person doesn't need colour printing, and honestly doesn't even need to print at all with rare exception.

Based on your replies you are not the average person in terms of printer usage. So that's why you had the responses that you've had. You're just seeming to look for an excuse to argue?

~~Name sounds Russian. If so, it figures. A society that, as a whole, appears to have quite he distain for other nation's monuments and culture. ~~ Also, for someone so apparently ignorant to some of modern humanity's greatest and most famous windows to our 'ancient' past, they write very well. Assuming it wasn't their solicitor who wrote it for them to sign, of course.

And that would totally defeat the point of sending the letter.

Edit: I am very wrong about the nationality of the 'alleged' vandal.

Tbf, this is a Reddit community. If you don't want to see stuff from this community either unsub or hide if from your All/Local feed.

Ah, talking about the porn they consume, but adverse to using a swear word.

Hmmm...I think this is the best explanation I've had so far.

I certainly don't mean this negatively, but I get the impression a lot of the people here that actually understand it are also bad at explaining it to normies like me. And people like me are very much in the minority at this stage in the growth.

Where's the obligatory flying Anglia?

I wouldn't say it's always a BMW driver, but I would say of course it's a BMW.

So if I'm understanding it correctly, Lemmy is the Federation and .world is the instance? And then within that instance are it's own communuties?

[–] fluke 2 points 2 years ago (3 children)

I don't have anything technical to add to the discussion, I have absolutely no idea how Lemmy works, just that I despertately wanted somewhere else to go to that wasn't Reddit.

Still not even sure I understand how any of it works, although I do understand why there are privacy concerns and concerns around 'syncing' changes etc.

What I do want to say is that analogies aren't supposed to be taken too literally. That's kind of the point of them. :)

My bad, I was thinking you were talking about the new 124!

I think both are probably comparable in their mechanical and electrical simplicity. The 124 is more lusted after, it's Italian after all. Personally, it it were my money I think the 124 would be the one I'd go for. It's a bit more exotic. Looks a little bit Ferarri-ish with the PinaFarina name.

They are pretty dang rare though, depending on your market. I'm UK and I don't think there's any for sale here at the moment, at least not on the mainstream classifieds.

If you can afford the 124, go for it. A Spitfire is interesting, it's playful, but it's just another British 60s/70s little sports car in a market of Sprites, MGBs, Midgets and TR2//3/4/5/6s.

By all accounts, the 124 was far more pioneering and ahead of it's time. It's a much more drivable car according to what people seem to say. But the Spitfire can be a bit more nimble and go-karty.
