For convenience, yes. I can't come up with and remember a different password for each different website.

You won't win this argument here though. These people don't know the difference between conservativism and US Republicanism.
I think you bring up very good examples. The communists in China with their cultural revolution is another example of progressive policies gone wrong. Children undergoing sex change operations and later regretting it could possibly be viewed as one in a few decades. (Examples of these do exist and their stories are heartbreaking.)
Unfortunately this might not be something from Reddit. It could be universal to all human communities. People want to feel that they are in the right but not be questioned, when countering opposing arguments is the way to truth.
I agree with you completely. The only people I tip higher than 15% are my hairdresser and one restaurant I frequent, because these people bothered learning my name/face so it feels more personal than the average place. Everyone else gets at most 15%.
That's great! I hope we can have more and more higher-density housing so the town can become more walkable in the future. A step in the right direction.

Is there a way to to something like this for Lemmy? This is one thing that I used all the time for Reddit and found immensely useful.
Super interesting article. Thanks for sharing.
It's not what you're asking but I figured to offer my thoughts on Anki to make the community more active.
I think Anki is a tool that can be effective but is not an absolute necessity. Personally, I find Anki reviews to be torturous and has always been the worst part of my routine, to the point of putting me off learning entirely. I've replaced Anki and all other forms of vocab review with extensive reading for a few years now, and am having a much more enjoyable time and don't find my progress to be hindered. Anki is probably good to drill in the first couple hundred words, but don't fall into the trap of using it religiously and making language learning a chore.
Actually that's not true. See https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/child-family-benefits/goods-services-tax-harmonized-sales-tax-gst-hst-credit/grocery-rebate.html
Please note it is possible you may be entitled to the Grocery Rebate, but not the July GST/HST credit or vice versa.
To save a click: 72-year-old woman cured of a treatment-resistant e-coli infection in a study led by Dr. Greg German, an infectious disease physician at St. Joseph's Hospital, part of Unity Health in Toronto. She had been suffering from it since age 65.
My inner pessimist tells me that it won't last and it'll only get worse as more and more people come.
